The 4th of July is almost here and you know what that means – endless cookouts and great food! But if you’re at a loss as to what to bring to wow your friends and family, look no further. I’ve been making this dessert since I was little (thanks to the help of my mom) and it is always a crowd favorite! Not only is it really simple and cheap to make, this refreshing and cool treat is sure to please everyone!
Disclaimer: I am not the original creator of this recipe. I have been making this dessert since I was 12 so I couldn’t tell you where exactly the recipe came from…just definitely not from inside my head.
Ingredients:
- 3 1/2 cups of milk
- 2 small boxes of instant chocolate pudding mix
- 16 oz, tub of Cool Whip
- 1 package of Oreo cookies
Directions:
- Pour the milk into a large bowl. Whisk the packets of pudding mix with the milk. Let sit for 5 minutes until it hardens into a pudding-like consistency.
- Place all of the Oreos into a large Ziploc bag. Seal the bag and crush all of the Oreos until they are crumbs. Set aside.
- After 5 minutes, pour the tub of Cool Whip into the chocolate pudding and mix thoroughly.
- Fold half of the crushed Oreos into the chocolate Cool Whip mixture.
- Pour the Oreo Chocolate Cool Whip mixture into a large brownie pan and smooth out evenly.
- Sprinkle the remaining amount of crushed Oreos on top of the dessert.
- Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Enjoy!
