Happy weekend! I am so relieved this week is over but I can’t believe its already August. I kinda feel like I‘m in a perpetual state of summer because I don’t have to go back to school at the end of the month. It will probably hit me more that I am no longer a student when September starts, lets just enjoy the time being. For now, its August and it’s been a while since I’ve done a life update. So here are the basics to what I’ve been up to lately.
My family got a new dog! We had been looking to adopt another dog for a few while and it turns out that one of my coworkers fosters dogs. This dog (her name was Bandit at the time) had just had 7 puppies when I first met her and her babies. It took a little convincing to get my parents on board, but now she’s ours and her name is Pepper! We think she’s a Pointer/Border Collie mix and she’s around a year old. She likes to chew on shoes and pee on the carpet, but she is seriously so sweet and cuddly and I love her so much.
I moved back in with my parents: This was always the plan for me, especially when I accepted a full-time job 15 minutes from my house. It’s really convenient being so close to work and being so familiar with the area. It’s a little weird having to report back to my parents for everything and being back in my high school bedroom, but I’m not complaining. I do pay “rent” but it really isn’t that much compared to what I could be paying and my parent’s are actually putting that money away for me. My twin brother actually just moved out to 2.5 hours away from home, but that’s just not in the cards for me now.
I’ve been working for 8 whole weeks now. But that doesn’t mean I’ve gotten the hang of it yet. I have been making a bunch of mistakes at work and I literally beat myself about them so much. Hopefully I’ll get better as time goes on but if anyone has any tips for when you make mistakes please let me know.
I bought my first car! I really wasn’t excited to have to buy a car at first, but the second I started looking and driving different cars, I got so excited! I am now a proud owner of a white 2018 Ford Escape. Her name is Betty White. The good news is that it still smells like new car. The bad news is that now I have to pay for my own insurance and I have a car payment. Adult life comes at you fast.
I’m training for another half-marathon: This half-marathon is in October in Georgetown with my friends Kalen and Melissa (who you know from this blog). October seems so far away so I haven’t really been training as hard as I did for my last half-marathon, but I’m hoping that I can get on track starting this week. The weather in Maryland has been so rainy lately which is not only a huge downer, but it also makes it difficult to run. I hate running on a treadmill, so lets hope the weather holds out for the month of August.
Blogging is hard when you have a full-time job. This is something I hadn’t thought about when I graduated and jumped right into my full-time job. My days are always dedicated to working 9-5 and then afterwork, I either fall right asleep, work out or hang out with my friends. So blogging is not a top priority at the moment, but I do have a ton of ideas that I want to show you all. So if you just bear with me and my busy schedule, I’m really hoping to expand my blog in the next few months.
Thanks for reading! xx
