Did I ever tell you about that time I was a second semester senior and I lost my only pair of glasses 6 weeks before graduation? It was awful. Technically I don’t need glasses all day everyday, but they definitely help me see far away for instances like reading the board or driving. So this was a total bummer. I was so convinced I would find them by the time I moved out of my college home, but to no avail. For months I had friends telling me “Kim, you really need to go get new glasses” over and over again. It wasn’t until this summer when I actually listened to them and made a new eye doctor appointment. I got my eyes checked, dilated…the whole cha-bang. I really wasn’t a fan of the style glasses at my eye doctor’s office, so I went hunting online for a cheaper and more stylin’ pair of specs. This pair was the outcome and this is one of the first times I’m actually wearing them for an extended period of time. This can be explained below.

So if we’re being honest, sometimes if we don’t have to do something, then we won’t. This is kinda how I feel about my glasses. Wearing glasses is pretty much optional for me but I do like to just throw them on if I want to look smarter or more professional. There have been times when I’ve literally thought to myself “omg why aren’t you wearing your glasses now?!” But those times are rare.

I bought them online at EyeBuyDirect after my eye appointment.These were really reasonably priced but I do worry my prescription was wrong because things aren’t as clear as they could be. I think I still need to get used to them, because just wearing them for this shoot made my head hurt. But that’s probably because I’ve gone so long without wearing glasses at all. I’m going to give this pair the benefit of the doubt (mainly because I don’t have another choice) and try to get used to them. I really like the way they look on my face so I’m glad I went with this style.
