It’s February 15th and we are officially over the halfway mark of No Fun February. How’s it going y’all? I am so happy that so many of my friends have jumped on board and are participating in one way or another. I get so happy when someone tells me “I went out tonight but I didn’t drink because it’s No Fun Feb” or “I’ve been eating really healthy this month” or “I’ve been saving so much money by not going out for lunch”. Awesome! This month is full of little victories (and a lot of little ways to get through it as best you can). So while I haven’t been perfect this entire month (even though this is my thing) I still wanted to share how I’ve done so far, some road bumps I’ve hit but some things I’m also really proud.
- BAD: I haven’t opened a book once: I really wanted to read more this month and be on my phone less, but I’ve been blogging a lot and that involves a lot of promo on social media…which means I haven’t made time for other things like reading.
- BAD: I haven’t kicked my sugar addiction: I wanted to cut out sugar as much as I could this month, but with Valentine’s Day and some left over Christmas candy… I’ve caved to my sweet tooth. But I did make some healthy desserts that have been helping! Here is one of the recipes.
- BAD: I did make some big purchases: So there were a few things I absolutely had to purchase this month (like a bridesmaid dress and plane ticket) or else I would have missed a deadline or would end up paying much more in March. I made an impromptu fun purchase late one night which really goes against No Fun Feb…but I love what I bought and I can’t wait to show you all.
- GOOD: I haven’t drank alcohol this whole month: Phew. Trust me, there have been quite a few times where the opportunity has come up. But I resisted and my body thanks me.
- GOOD: I’ve only spent money going out to eat once: That doesn’t mean I haven’t gone out to eat this month. I’ve used a gift card once for lunch at work and I crashed my parents Valentine’s dinner. I did spend money on breakfast with my coworkers on Galentine’s Day, but it was under $20 and I was not going to miss out on that opportunity just because of No Fun Feb.
- GOOD: I’ve been tracking my food everyday: I didn’t think I would stick with this for long, but now it’s become like social media for me and I really like hitting goals and tracking what I’m eating. It makes me think twice about snacking, which I totally needed help with.
- GOOD: I’ve hit some major fitness goals: So the other day I started training for my half-marathon in April and I ran 4.5 miles with ease! I felt so good after! I totally expected to feel like death or not be able to do it, but I did and even on a treadmill! Then I went to weigh myself at the gym after this run and I’m 6 lbs lighter than I thought I was. I don’t want No Fun Feb to be strictly focused on weight loss, but whether its because of Orange Theory or eating healthier that was a pleasant surprise. I rarely see changes like this, so I’m feeling really motivated right now.
So that is my No Fun Feb halfway check-in point! Seems like the good has outweighed the bad…but I do still have two more weeks. Anyone else feel like this month has been going by super slowly, or is it just me?
How have you been doing this month? Comment below, I would love to hear about it.
Thanks for reading! xx
