So I’m making this a biweekly series now because I forgot to make one last week. But maybe it’s better that I wait every two weeks anyway because trust me, my life is not that interesting. I was a little sick this week so I’ve taken some time to just relax after work and give some much needed sleep and it’s been great. Work is going well and I have started planning out some adventures for fall (and some new blogs) so I’m feeling productive and excited for the things to come. Here is everything I think you need to know from the past two weeks:
Highlights: (basically centered around seeing my friends)
- Autumn and Seth got married and it was probably the most fun weekend of my entire life. They’re on their honeymoon right now which is cool for them but lame for me because I am used to having Autumn to text every waking second so I’m experiencing withdrawal.
- My Italian Bella of a bestie, Peyton, finally returned home after a summer in Italy and I’m so happy I got to see her before she went back to Chicago for a few weeks.
- Got brunch with Kalen in DC over the weekend, and then got to eat tacos with Taylor in College Park, MD. (food with my best friends is always a highlight).
- Had dinner with Kayla to celebrate her and her fiancee, Tommy, buying a house (!!!!!!!!!!) I told her I call dips on their guest room, forever. So excited for them!
Articles I Read This Week:
- The Cut, Caroline Calloway: So I had seen a few tweets about this on Twitter but didn’t know who Caroline Calloway was at the time (turns out I did read about her ”workshop’ scam in January but didn’t make the connection until reading this article). OMG Natalie Beach is a very talented writer and this entire essay was wild from start to finish.
- History: Exploitation of 19th Century Ballerinas: I stumbled upon this article earlier this week on Twitter (because yes, I follow the History Channel) and just found it very fascinating so I wanted to share.
- White Claw Shortage: The amount of people who have brought this to my attention in the last two weeks is…incredible.
Podcasts I Enjoyed This Week:
- Why Won’t You Date Me?: Nicole Byers is so hilarious! I first heard about this podcast earlier this year but forgot about it for a bit. Nicole invites friends and guests to her show to have them rate her dating profiles and talk about social issues that usually have something to do with dating. She even has people who she’s dated in the past come on and explain why it didn’t work out. Super funny and super entertaining.
- The Target Girl: So Autumn and I have been obsessed with Lauren Lebouef on Instagram for years and I just learned she has a podcast! Lauren just got married and her pictures and videos on Instagram are so dreamy and perfect. I like how on the podcast Lauren talks about influencer success, normal girl issues and of course, what each guest loves most about Target. I just listened to the Tanner Mann episode and loved it.
Stores I recently bought from:
- Princess Polly: I had a giftcard! I got two tops and a midi skirt and when you see them, you’re going to be like ‘wow of course, that is so Kim’. Hype about it.
- Gap: I need to exchange these pants for a bigger size but orange corduroy is something I’m very excited about this season.
- Abercrombie and Fitch: You really can’t beat their high-waisted jeans and they have a great fall collection with lots of sweaters and skirts but if you’re going to buy from here wait until they do one of their 50% off sales.
- Nordstrom: I shouldn’t have I bought a coat for fall, but I did buy a coat for fall and I can’t wait to wear it in the fall but I probably should have waited… oops.
- Etsy: I had to get something with sequins for my next KimberKopy and that literally just arrived. I also want to buy some snarky Halloween t-shirts for October and Etsy has a ton!
Personal Wins:
- Managed to do something on Adobe Illustrator at work that I thought I had lost the ability to do since graduating college. (go Kim).
- These FIRE photos I shot with Kalen (seriously how cool is this?!):
- Made it to all of my workouts this week (6:05am Orange Theory Classes on Tuesday and Thursday and a 6:30am Pure Barre class on Wednesday)
- My supervisor emailed me out of the blue yesterday and told me she is proud of me for the work I’ve been doing:)
To-Do this Week:
- Color coordinate closet and donate clothes: Now that I have successfully cleaned out my closet I need to organize it now and also figure out what I want to sell and what I want to donate.
- Book Charleston Historical Tour and Boston Airbnb: These are my next trips and while flights are booked I really need to finish planning each one out.
- Exchange Gap pants: Bought these pants super on sale this week and I am so excited for them but I definitely should have sized up and a little worried the Gap at my mall won’t have any Long inseam pants but I am still going to go try and exchange these pants.
- Finish “The Dying of the Light” book: I want to read so many books that I have waiting next to my bed but I need to finish this one first.
- I buying a new laptop this weekend: There, I spoke it into existence. This has been on my to-do list for over a year. Unfortunately I missed the chance to use any student discount but I still think I can save a little bit of money here and there (totally going to turn in my little jar of coins too because every little bit helps).
So that’s basically the long and the short of it all. Looking forward to the next few weeks!
Thanks for reading! xx
