I’m interrupting your “fall” feels to bring you a little taste of summer (after all… it was 90 degrees here in Maryland this week). A few weeks ago I took a little weekend trip to Charleston with my mom and it was one of my favorite trips I’ve ever gone on. The quality time with my mom was so incredible and Charleston is such a lovely little town. We were only there for two days but I feel like we saw so much of the city. Here are some pictures from my trip!
Day 1:
We got to Charleston at midnight on Thursday night and immediately crashed at our hotel. We stayed in this charming, historical inn on King Street called the Fulton Lane Inn. I wish I had taken more pictures of the inside because it was the best hotel/inn I have ever stayed in. There are a bunch of other historic inns associated with the Fulton Lane Inn and all of them seem so unique and different from each other. If you stay in Charleston, I 1000% recommend staying in one of these inns. More information here!
One perk of staying in this Inn is that there is a complimentary breakfast available every morning that they deliver to your room. This is how we started each morning and it was delightful.
My mom and I knew we wanted to do a historical tour before we even arrived. My mom found “Lowcountry Walking Tours” which was only $10 per person. I am such a history buff and I learned so much about the city and how it got started. Our guide’s name was Captain Bob and he was such a delight. And he knew so much! A lot of the pictures in this blog post are from the tour! To book a tour with the same company I used, click here.
So I feel so bad about this but I cannot for the life of me remember where my mom and I ate lunch. It was somewhere down King Street and it was great but I cannot remember the name of it. We had been walking around so much and just wanted a place to sit and drink at…so we went here but I cannot remember the name of the place! Gah!
Another perk of staying at the Fulton Lane Inn was that there was a free wine and cheese happy hour right next door at the Kings Courtyard Inn. You can bet my mom and I took full advantage of that. We stopped here before going to the Volvo Car Stadium for the Kacey Musgraves concert.

Day 2:
We started day 2 with another complimentary breakfast from the Fulton Lane Inn and then went for a walk back to Rainbow Row. For more pictures from that morning, click here.
Everyone told me about Callie’s Hot Biscuits when I asked for Charleston recommendations and it did not disappoint! I was only bummed out that it wasn’t a sit down restaurant like I had thought it would be.
Honestly, if I had known about the College of Charleston when I was applying for school, I would have wanted to go here so badly. The campus itself is beautiful and has so many old houses as academic buildings. I would have fallen in love with this school if I had visited while I was in high school.
The weather could not have been more perfect while we were there! It was 85 degrees all weekend and the perfect end to a long summer.
Before our flight we went for drinks at The Watch Rooftop bar which was so nice. The drinks were fancy and a little expensive but they were super strong and delicious.
So I have to admit I did not do as a good a job as I thought I did when it came to documenting this entire trip, but these are definitely my favorite pictures from the trip. I can’t remember everything we did or ate but this was such an amazing trip and I have my mom to thank for that. We’ve decided we want to make this girls trip a yearly thing and are thinking about Cape Cod for next year! Let’s hope it works out!
