Confession: I haven’t worn corduroy pants since…middle school? Elementary school? I mean I had a corduroy skirt or two over the years, but I always associate corduroy pants with when I was younger. And these pants in particular give me 70s since they’re orange and wide-leg, and weren’t bell-bottoms a thing back then? I wore this outfit last weekend when I was in Boston and I felt very city-chic in this outfit. A stranger even complimented my boots at a bar. But this post is about my pants, got it?
Kalen took these pics of me in a courtyard right outside of Eataly in Boston. Kalen is a 10/10 photographer and an even better travel buddy. We got Gelato and met this woman from Florida in line who was just preaching to us all of these incredible things I love to hear, like “you’re both so young and beautiful, don’t settle down anytime soon”. Which basically reiterates everything Kalen and I were telling each other the whole trip. This Florida woman’s son goes to Harvard and she was telling us how she did so much by herself when she was in her early twenties, waited to get married when she was 31 and had her son when she was 35. And honestly, that sounds like the dream for me. She complimented the fact that we were both traveling and single and working on degrees and careers and I hear these sorts of these all the time when I’m at work but I never get tired of it. It’s nice to hear I’m on the life path I want to be on from a total stranger who also wanted Gelato. So that’s where life is for me right now.
I bought this pants from Gap but actually ended up returning my first pair because they were a little snug on the hips and I wanted a looser feel. It’s a good thing I sized up because 1. these will probably shrink and 2. when I exchanged them they were more than half off! So that’s a big win for Kim. I’m getting paranoid now because these pants fit really well in a size up so maybe I’m a size bigger than I thought and I don’t know when that happened and oh look, I’m spiraling…Anyway….everything else I’m wearing is linked below.

One of my favorite things about this trip to Boston is that one of my best friends, Emily happened to be up there the same time Kalen and I were! We met for drinks Saturday night and it was so fun to catch up and explore the city with both of these girls. I love getting to see my friends in far away places (also fun fact, I’ve been friends with both Kalen and Emily since high school!)
What are your thoughts on the whole ‘wide-leg pants’ trend?
