It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!
One of my favorite things to do in October is to watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” That’s always been such a classic in my house. My parents used to call my brothers and I into the living room on the one Sunday it was playing on ABC so we could all watch it together while carving a pumpkin. My parents even used to watch it when they were kids when it was on once a year (while in totally different towns, which I think is cute). So it’s a great family tradition, and it got me thinking of other Halloween traditions I love doing. It also motivated me to buy this Snoopy shirt from Target! Similar shirts and a list of my fav traditions are below!
My Favorite Halloween Traditions:
- Watch It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown! It’s on tonight on ABC at 7pm EST/PST (6pm CST)
- Mummy ‘pigs-in-a-blanket’: This is new tradition I picked up in college with some of my friends and now it’s become very customary whenever we go out or have a Halloween party.
- Make my Oreo dessert: I will make this dessert for any occasion but I do especially feel like it’s a more Halloween-y. I agreed to make it for my work’s potluck this week (recipe here)!
- Watch Halloween movies on Freeform: I downloaded the Freeform app on my smartTV and turn it on every day after work. I’ve mainly been watching Hocus Pocus, The Addams Family and A Nightmare Before Christmas… but those are classics and never get old.
- Carve a pumpkin: I’ve done this since I was a little kid! My parents always pick the same design every year, which is basically the pumpkin on my t-shirt. Maybe we’ll try to switch it up this year.
Unfortunately my shirt is sold out but I linked similar below!

This Halloween I will be handing out candy to the kids in my neighborhood. What are your plans? Comment below!
