Woah. What a year. Definitely some ups and some downs but that’s pretty typical for any year. Either way, I like to focus on the positives. Below I have listed 10 of my favorite things that happened this year. In no particular order might I add, other than maybe chronologically… But all of these events are highlights of my year.
- Started off the year in China: It’s really crazy to think my first trip of 2019 was halfway across the world in China to visit my best friend Taylor. I’ve never been that far from home before and it was definitely an adventure I’m glad I got to experience with Taylor by my side. Here is the post!
- Ran my second half-marathon: This was such a big accomplishment for me. I didn’t stop once to walk and ran my best time. I remember wanting to cry of happiness when I crossed the finish line because I was so proud of myself. I was the most sore I have ever been in my life right after. Here is the post I wrote about it.
- Quick trip to Clearwater: As a celebration for running another half-marathon, Allison and I took a random trip to Clearwater, Florida just to get out and get some sun. Super fun, super chill and I got a great tan even in the spring. Here’s a recap post from the trip.
- Weekend in Nashville: So Nashville is such a fun city, especially when you’re surrounded by so many of your best friends. Getting to go back to Nashville is something I’ve always wanted to do and it was a hoot and a half. Favorite part of that trip was definitely the party bike we rode around on the first day. Here’s the post from my trip!
- Bachelorette Party in Austin: Austin, Texas you are such a cool city, especially when celebrating a best friend. Autumn’s bachelorette party was definitely my favorite trip of this entire year. We got to explore the city, went paddleboarding, tried some delicious food, went boating and drank a ton of Whiteclaws. I can’t wait to go back! Here’s a recap post.
- Autumn and Seth’s wedding: Truth be told I am still on cloud 9 from this weekend. We had the rehearsal dinner, open house party in Annapolis, hotel parties, getting ready in the morning, the actual ceremony and of course the reception. Getting to hang out with the whole bridal party and getting to celebrate two of my favorite people with my best friends and family was so incredible. I actually get really sad that there will never be another weekend like this again but at least I have hundreds of photos to fill the void. Here is a post of all the wedding pics!
- SOOOO Many Concerts: I was trying to remember all of the concerts I went this year and I know I’m missing some. Thomas Rhett, Parachute, Kelsea Ballerini, Sunday in the Country, Lizzo, Jonas Brothers, and I know I’m missing at least two… but either way. I saw some amazing performances this year and they were all so fun.
- Charleston with my mom: I had the loveliest little trip with my mom to Charleston in late September. I rarely get to do things like this one on one with my mom and it has honestly brought us so much closer. We went on a historic walking tour and got to see Kacey Musgraves (her favorite singer!) We’re already planning our next trip together somewhere in New England and I can’t wait. Here is the post!
- Spontaneous trip to Boston/Salem: So I did briefly visit Boston earlier this year for a business trip, but I’m so glad I was able to go back during spooky season with my friend Kalen. Salem really plays to the whole Halloween thing and we got to see the original Witch House, a Halloween market and the Peabody Museum. When we were in Boston we also randomly ran into another one of my best friends, Emily. Here is my photo recap post of Salem.
- Kayla and Tommy’s wedding: This was such a highlight of not only 2019 but also of my entire life. I’ve known Kayla since I was 4 and to get to see her get MARRIED and stand by her side is one of the greatest honors of my life. I cried so many happy tears and although I don’t have a post of all the wedding pics yet (that post will come early in 2020) but here is a post of Kayla’s bridal shower.
So that is my top 10 for 2019! What were your highlights? Comment below!
