Maybe it’s not my weekend, but it’s gonna be my year.
I think I’ve been singing those lyrics to myself every NYE since I was 13. Honestly 2020 snuck up on me big time. I’m throwing a Gatsby themed party tomorrow with some friends and I haven’t even gotten everything I need to decorate for it. We’re entering a new decade which is very exciting because I can only imagine all of the exciting things that will happen in my life in the next 10 years, but at the same time, the thought completely overwhelms me. So rather than think super big picture about anything, I’ve decided to make a quick post about the basics of what I really need to enjoy my New Years Eve tomorrow and 3 simple steps I can do in the next few days before I make a precise list of resolutions or goals for the year.
New Years Eve Party Checklist:
- a sparkly dress
- a clock to tell me what time it is
- some snacks
- a little music
- a bottle of champagne to kiss at midnight
Three Goals I’m Going to Start the Year Off With:
- Increase my monthly student loan amount so I can pay them off faster
- Read more, so I can get up to 50 books by the end of the year
- Get my mental health under control by looking into a new therapist, journaling more and reading my devotional.
Fun fact: these pictures were taken in the same bathroom as this post, this post and this post. Even when I was taking them with Allison, she was saying behind the camera “OMG you’re gonna love these”. And she was right! This dress is from Rent the Runway and these boots are from Lulu’s. Here is a similar dress from Lulu’s and here are similar booties.
Hope you have a great New Years Eve!
