Did I ever mention how much I love the color ‘burnt orange’ in the fall? I’m going to guess definitely since I tend to wear a lot of this color in October and November. I randomly threw this outfit together while researching fall trends on Tumblr and Pinterest. I get the best fashion and photo inspiration from there. I envision this outfit would be amazing for like a fall date night or happy hour with the girls…if I was going to either of those these days. But anyway, here is how I would style a burnt orange slip dress.
I took these photos early this morning before work so I could run some errands during my lunch and go for a run this afternoon. I think I found the perfect time to take photos in my neighborhood because the lighting was *chef’s kiss* and the only people that were out and about to watch me shoot these with my tripod were the cheery morning people. Love that!
So I know I cut off my head in most of these pictures, but that was totally on purpose. I really wanted to showcase this outfit and add some mystery to the photos. I’ve been saving a lot of ‘headless’ photos on Pinterest for blogging inspiration. I also noticed my tummy is sticking out in a bunch of these photos, but that’s what you get with this kind of dress. We’re all a little bumpy and I’m not going to loose sleep over showing that in photos.
I thrifted this cowl neck slip dress from Poshmark, but have found there are so many similar dresses online. This blazer I’m wearing is from Madewell, but is also a rental from Rent the Runway. I also linked similar below. I wore my Sam Edelman white loafers with this outfit but didn’t get a chance to photograph them. I’d say this outfit would also look great with brown booties or tan mid-calf boots.
