Halloween is less than a week away! I don’t want to come on here and encourage anyone to go to a party or bar because in case you forgot, we’re still in a pandemic. But I know there are safe ways to celebrate the holiday this weekend. I wanted to show off some fun and easy best friends costumes with my actual best friend, Kayla. We took these at her house a few weeks ago after a homemade brunch. And as it turns out, for every single one of these costumes, I needed orange hair. Unfortunately I didn’t order the orange Overtone like I originally planned so I just edited these in Lightroom. I felt like it was a crime to edit over Kayla’s hair color, so that stayed. Hope you find some Halloween inspiration from these pics!
Kim Possible and Shego
I can’t believe I didn’t do this costume sooner! After all, my name is Kim… This costume was actually really easy to do. For my costume, I rented these cargo pants from Rent the Runway and already had everything else I needed in my closet. For Kayla’s Shego costume, she already had the boots, leggings and black top. We took an old green t-shirt that I used for another costume a few years ago to make the triangle shapes and make it look like a bodysuit.
Here is what you need:
Kim Possible:
- black off-the-shoulder top
- green cargo pants
- brown belt
- fingerless gloves
- combat boots
Shego:
- black long sleeve top
- lime green t-shirt (to cut up)
- black leggings (bonus points if they already have green in them)
- combat boots
Velma and Daphne
I got my dress from Rent the Runway and recently thrifted these white cowboy boots. Everything Kayla is wearing is actually straight from my closet. We had to tie and pin the sweater and skirt so they would fit her, but I think it looks great! This is a very classic best friend’s costume and really easy to pull off. The most important part of this costume is that you get the colors right.
What you need:
Velma:
- orange turtleneck
- red skirt
- brown/orange socks
- red shoes
- glasses
Daphne:
- lavender/lilac dress
- headband
- green scarf
- white boots
Candace and Vanessa
I hope everyone understands this costume. It’s from Phineas and Ferb! Candace and Vanessa are rarely ever in scenes together but definitely cross paths. When we took these pictures, we played “Busted” on Youtube to get in the spirit. I rented this white skirt from Rent the Runway, but everything else we are wearing, we were able to pick from our own closets.
What you need:
Candace:
- red tank
- white skirt
- red socks
- white sneakers
Vanessa:
- black leather jacket
- black jeans
- combat boots
- red lipstick
Also this is a big thank you to our friend Taylor for helping us take these photos! You’re a star.
What are you doing for Halloween? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading! xx
