Today is Small Business Saturday so I wanted to highlight some BIPOC-owned businesses and some products that I think would make great gifts for anyone on your list.
Bobbi Made This: Super fun earrings that are handmade in North Carolina. This Black-owned business puts so much character and a unique flare to every set of earrings. They’re super funky and I dig it.
Orenda Tribe: I am so obsessed with this gorgeous top and so many other pieces on this site. The owner is the daughter of a full-blooded Navajo, and her family comes from the Bisti Wilderness-Chaco Canyon region. Her mission is to help Indigenous makers and artists find opportunities to create with Orenda Tribe.
Terrance Williams Designs: This Black-owned and LGBTQ business offers ethically sourced and sustainably produced clothing and accessories. From the handmade headwraps to the wristlets and scarves, there are a lot of great gift options.
Predominantly Black: A majority of their items are made sustainably within the United States. Predominantly Black embraces a company culture based on the beauty of simplicity, clean lines, & artistic execution. I especially love their candles.
White Buffalo Asdzaan: Masks, stickers, purses, jewelry and more! This mother-daughter duo makes everything by hand and are Diné and Omaha from the Shiprock, NM area but currently reside on Goshute and Shoshone land (Salt Lake City).
Goddess Figure Candles: I’m so obsessed with these candles. You can purchase them on Uncommon Goods, but they are handmade by Dowa Doneye. Dowa is a London-based entrepreneur that uses her childhood inspiration to add a new perspective on West African sculpture and crafts.
Cheekbone Beauty: Cheekbone Beauty is an Indigenous-owned and founded, digitally-native, Canadian cosmetics company established in 2016 by Jennifer Harper. If you’re looking for cruelty-free products and want to give a different make-up brand a try, go for this one!
Oceanne: Modern jewelry, apparel, office supplies and custom stamped items that make for personalized and chic gifts. This Black-owned business is based in Cleveland, OH and has an incredible team of talented women-makers.
Native Made Shop: This company is by dine artists who share a love of their culture and handmade art. Each item sold a portion is donated to Adopt- A- Native Elder Program! I love the turquoise stones and delicate look of this jewelry.
