Is this tan coat or a camel coat? I’m not realizing some people may be looking for how to style a camel coat, but oh well- we’re already here. I rented this long tan coat from Rent the Runway and I totally wanted to keep it ($500+ said otherwise). This coat is so versatile and can make any outfit a little more chic and put together. Here are three ways I would style a long tan coat in the winter.
This coat I’m wearing may be a rental, but you can buy similar here:
Outfit 1:
Don’t we all feel most powerful in a black turtleneck? I feel a bit like a school girl in this outfit, so I threw on the combat boots to try to edge it up. If you’re going for a girlier look but trying to stick to the neutral tones of the coat, wear a plaid or houndstooth skirt and solid color turtleneck.
Outfit 2:
I actually wore this exact outfit the other day with my friend Sarah in Annapolis. It really felt like a more casual take on menswear- what with the loafers and white button down, but this is also very classic and care-free. Very quintessentially my style, so this is how I would normally style the coat for myself.
Outfit 3:
Let’s all say hi to BB in the background of these. She is the sweet-baby angel I was dog sitting when I took these pictures. I have to admit I would normally not share an outfit with sweatpants, but in 2020, nothing is normal. Believe it or not, you can totally dress up a sweatshirt-sweatpants combo with a tan coat. I recommend sticking to a neutral color palette and making sure the pieces aren’t too baggy. This is the outfit I would wear to the grocery store when I needed to run out for something quick, but I don’t want to look like a total slob incase I run into someone.
Which outfit is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
