I’ve been working from home for almost a year now and it’s honestly so hard for me to remember what life in the brick and mortar office used to be like. Life looks so different now than it did a year ago. But if there is one habit that has not changed since my little brother’s room became my home office, it’s that I am a huge snacker throughout the work day. I mean… what else is there to do when you never leave your house? Trader Joe’s is my favorite grocery store and I won’t rest until I’ve tried every food in there. I always like reading about people’s favorite TJ’s foods, which is what inspired me to make this post. Here are 5 snack foods you should pick up from Trader Joe’s the next time you do a grocery run.
Soft & Juicy Mango:
Shoutout to my best friend Peyton for bringing these into my life. I never used to like dried fruits but are sweet and succulent. These are pretty much like candy! I’m a firm believer that sometimes we just need something chewy and sweet to get us through the day. These are not a totally guilt-free treat because there is a lot of sugar, but still… it’s fruit!
Milk Chocolate PB Cups:
Can you tell I sugar? I have a major sweet tooth. But what helps me from eating an entire package of Oreo’s throughout the day is having one or two of these whenever I get a sugar craving. You can also get them in dark chocolate, but I prefer milk chocolate. My dad loves these too.
EBTB Almonds and Cashews:
So addicting! I already put “everything but the bagel” seasoning on my eggs every morning, but this is such a great midday snack. Big nut guy. These are usually always sold out when I go to Trader Joe’s so I try to stock up whenever they are in stock.
Plantain Chips with Double Roasted Salsa:
Back when I was doing Whole30 last year, this was my favorite snack! These plantain chips are so good for when you need a salty fix. Trader Joe’s has a bunch of great salsa options but I keep going back to the double roasted salsa because it’s the most traditional. The plantain chips are usually enough of a snack for me anyway (and my mom loves them too!), but if you haven’t checked out all the salsas TJ’s has to offer, give ’em a look!
Cookie Butter on Rice Cakes:
I used to eat almond butter on rice cakes like crazy back in college. Now almond butter is obviously the healthier choice but cookie butter is my new favorite thing. So delicious! This snack is crunchy and very filling- I like to think of this as my normal 3pm snack. I’ll also sprinkle chia seeds and sometimes coconut flakes on top as well.
So there you have it. Am I the healthiest snacker? Absolutely not- but I think we can all admit these are not the worst snacks out there. So I hope you get a chance to enjoy them.
