I am so proud of myself for how many books I read in 2021! I completely blew my goal out of the water!Be sure to check out this post of the books I read this year when I completed my 2021 Goodreads challenge back in August. Here is my year review off of GoodReads with the complete list of every book I read in 2021. In case you don’t have a GoodReads, here are the rest of the books I read this year.
So where did we leave off? I had just finished “The Unhoneymooners” and then dove right in to another audio book. This list starts in August and goes through December. This is 24 books (my favorite number).
- The Bromance Book Club: Starting off strong! I listened to the audio book and I was laughing out loud. I love a second chance romance. 5/5 stars
- People We Meet on Vacation: Another 5 stars for me! I’m lucky that I got this book on Libby while I was actually on my family vacation. I could not put this book down. 5/5 stars
- It Happened One Summer: My first Tessa Bailey book! So enjoyable but I did not want it to end! 5/5 stars.
- To Have and to Hoax: I don’t think I’m a “historical romance” person which is weird because I love historical fiction AND romance, but this one did not do it for me. 3/5 stars
- Ugly Love: I’m not a big Colleen Hoover person but she is all over booktok so I gave this one a shot. An entertaining and somewhat relatable love story but I was not obsessed. 4/5 stars
- The Couple Next Door: Lowest rating I have ever given a book. The entire premise was odd and it seemed all over the place. 2/5 stars
- The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo: BY FAR MY FAVORITE BOOK OF 2021. I was crying in the middle seat of an airplane when I finished this book. Could not control my sobs. I love the glamour, the writing, the twists, the love story. I even dressed up as Evelyn for Halloween. 6/5 stars
- Daisy Jones & The Six: This was by far the best AUDIO book I’ve ever read, but I was not a big fan of the story. I did cry and the audio book absolutely blew my mind, but the end seemed very anticlimactic. 4/5 stars
- The Spanish Love Deception: I love love loved this book so much. It was like all the things I loved about The Hating Game x10. I’ve even gone back and reread some of my favorite parts. 5/5 stars
- The Song of Achilles: I had high hopes for this book and they were not met. I don’t think I’m a mythology person and perhaps that is why I did not enjoy it as much as others. Certain scenes live rent free in my head, but most of the time I was confused. 3/5 stars
- Malibu Rising: TJR has done it again. This story was so captivating and entertaining. I loved how she threw in characters from her other books. 5/5 stars
- The Roommate: This book was a lot spicier than I thought it would be, but that’s not a bad thing! Can’t believe I got it off Libby. I had a lot of secondhand embarrassment so I took off a star. 4/5 stars
- Undercover Bromance: The sequel to “The Bromance Book Club”. Not as good as the first one but still loved it. 4/5 stars
- The Ex Hex: I had high hopes for this one but the ending was too fast and it was a bit all over the place. A fantastic October read and very cute, but I had some issues with it. 4/5 stars
- One Last Stop: I just liked RW&RB better. 4/5 stars
- Something to Talk About: The dynamic between these two was weird to me and I did not see any chemistry between them but it was an interesting love story. A new take for me on workplace romance. 3/5 stars
- November 9: I was so scared of this book. It was a fun and quick read and I did not cry so that was great! 4/5 stars
- The Intimacy Experiment: I definitely liked The Roommate better but this book felt like it had more powerful themes. Also, got a hint of “Priest” vibes which I was all about. 4/5 stars
- Fix Her Up: I read this book so fast! Absolutely adorable but the ending felt so rushed and I’m not sure how I felt about the clown thing. 4/5 stars
- The Alice Network: Took a while for me to get into but ended up being a fantastic read! I love a book which a good epilogue. 4/5 stars
- One Day in December: This book made me so upset and so anxious. I almost didn’t finish it! 3/5 stars
- Window Shopping: An adorable holiday book that I enjoyed every second of, but was not totally obsessed with. 4/5 stars
- When the Stars Go Dark: I have always loved Paula McLain’s books but this one was a bit of a miss for me. I like her historical fiction books better and some of these characters were confusing. Lots of twists which I liked! 4/5 stars
- The Truth About Forever: I am cheating a bit with this one because I totally finished it after NYE. Back in May, Ashley and I did a book swap during one of our girls weekends. I gave her one of my favorite books and she gave me hers. It took me a long time to get into this one (I do not care about high schoolers…which is also why I have never watched Gossip Girl) and this book make me want to SCREAM. But the ending was cute. Thanks for making me read it Ash! 3.5/5 stars
Did you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading! xx
