If you’re like me, you can never decide on just one Halloween costume. Hopefully you’re not and you can just pick one thing and call it a day. Usually around August I start to think about my costumes. These 6 costumes are what I have been obsessing over. I would seriously wear any one of these this year (in fact, I probably will) and I wanted to share how you can pull them off too!
Disclaimer: I am providing links on where you can buy everything, but I do think you can thrift a lot of these clothing items and you may already have most of this in your closet.
Man…I Feel Like A Woman
What You Need:
- White Button Down
- Black Top Hat
- Face Netting
- Black Strapless Dress / Tube Top + Black Skirt
- Black Gloves
- Over The Knee Boots
DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA- LET’S GO GIRLS! This costumes just makes you the absolute life of the party. Just pull your hair into a french twist (if you’re capable) or a low bun like I did. As you can see from the picture above, Shania wears a very foxy, winged eye look which I think really completes the look.
Pink Holly Golightly
What You Need:
- Bright Pink Coat
- Bright Pink Dress (I like this one too)
- Pink Tiara / Rhinestone Hair Clip
- Pink Earrings
- Silver Clutch
- Pink Heels
I was Holly Golightly a few years ago when I dyed my hair brown, but this pink look has lived rent free in my mind for months. With Valentino’s Pink PP Collection taking the world by storm, I figured I would go along with the Barbiecore pink trend and represent that in a few Halloween costumes (this being one of them). This is a great costume if you also get really cold!
How The Grinch Stole Christmas
What You Need:
- Green Feather Top
- Santa Dress (Or a Santa Jacket will work)
- Green Feather Skirt (if you don’t wear a dress)
- Santa Hat
- Green Tights
- Green Boots
- Green Eyeshadow + Green Glitter
- Black Eyeliner
Did you know that the 2000’s “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” is my favorite movie? Well now you do. And while I’ve done three Kimberkopy’s of this movie in recent years, I have never actually dressed up as the Grinch. So I think a sexy Grinch is both hilarious and cute. “Funny + Sexy” costumes are the move this year! And odds are you may already have some sort of Santa gear laying around. I think what really makes the costume is a little hint of Grinch make-up. No need to paint your whole face! Some green eyeshadow, glitter on the cheekbones and eyeliner on the nose (for a signature Who nose) will be just fine.
Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend
What You Need:
No, this is not me supporting that terrible Blonde movie on Netflix. While that movie may make this costume seem very timely, I did a full-on recreation of this look in 2019 that you can check out here! So I did it first! And this costume goes along with the hot pink trend that is taking over the fashion world. Once you have your costume together, all you need to do is volumize and curl your hair, put on some read lipstick and do a signature Marilyn cat-eye wing. I would also kill for these pink platform heels.
Maleficent
What You Need:
My version of this outfit is a little more risqué than Angelina’s version of this costume, but maybe that is what makes it fun. You could even make this a buddy costume and find yourself a sleeping beauty. If I have any make up recommendations, it is that you emphasize your cheekbones to the highest heavens!
Taylor Swift ‘Midnights’
What You Need:
I look forward to seeing what other outfits we get in this era, but for now, this remains the most iconic. I actually own most of this in my closet already so while it’s not a difficult costume for me to pull together, it might as well be for the average Swiftie. I’ve seen so many of my Swiftie friends recreate this look and every single one looks amazing! You will probably need to hot glue the stars to the dress, but we love a little DIY moment.
What are you going as for Halloween this year? Let me know in the comments!
