You know what I need to stop doing? Thrifting shoes. I know, I know – seems gross. And it probably is. But I love thrifting and saving money. Another girl’s trash is Kim’s treasure. I even thrifted these beautiful shoes above (shoutout to the very talented Stephanie for shooting this awesome picture above) but you won’t find them listed in this post. One thing I’ve noticed as I get older is how important it is to have good shoes. Like good quality and comfortable. And shoes I will actually wear too! Gone are the days of super tall heels and uncomfortable sandals that dig into my toes. As the weather gets warmer, I will want to be outside more and also walking around Baltimore to save money on Lyfts. So these are the shoes I have my eyes on this season (but I definitely won’t be buying all of them).
- Veja Sneakers: Confession: I want this particular pair of Veja Sneakers because Meghan Markle owns the same pair. But I’ve heard recently that this slimmer, less chunky sneaker will be all the rage this season! I love a sleek looking sneaker I can dress up or down.
- Birkenstocks: In 2021, I was petsitting and the dog chewed through one of my Birkenstocks! Last year I was able to hold out and not buy a new pair, since I had a pretty cheap knock-off pair. But this year, I think I deserve them! I really love the gold buckles on this pair.
- Wide Calf Boots: Are these more of a winter shoe? I was planning on buying these in December, but never got around to it because I get so nervous about taller boots not fitting around my calves. I’ve seen a bunch of great ways these can be styled for spring, but I worry the time for them has passed. There is always next year!
- New Balance Sneakers: Pastel colored sneakers? Sign me up! I would love some colorful sneakers I can wear when I run arounds or walk around Baltimore, without them looking like running shoes. (Gotta save my running shoes for my half-marathon training!)
- Hokas Running Shoes: I am running a half marathon in Denver in May (*scary music plays here*) Last summer I went to Charm City Run and got fitted for sneakers that won’t make my toenails fall off. I heard you’re supposed to get new running shoes every 100 miles and I am pretty sure I’m about to hit that point. Impressive, right?
- Recovery Slides: I can’t decide if these will help me with my running or are a complete waste of money. I just think they look cool and I am personally very intrigued by anything that can help me be a better runner.
- Cap Toe Sling Back Heels: If you know me, you know my favorite pair of shoes of all time is my Chanel Knock-Out Tan Cap Toe Heels. I wear these shoes so often that they are falling apart! I need to get a new pair, but I am so torn up about parting with this worn-in pair.
- Dad sandals: I especially love these checkered sandals. This style of sandals sort of remind me of Birks, but I love the extra strap on the back for more support. This spring and summer, we are focusing on comfort!
- Pointed Kitten Heel: I am so obsessed with these, especially since THEY HAVE A CHAMPAGNE CORK FOR A HEEL! I will actively be waiting for these to go on sale. I need to have them.
- Hermes Flat Sandal Dupes: Listen… if you can afford the actual Hermes Sandals, good for you! Me? I am going to buy a similar looking pair from Target. I have a white pair that I have worn into the ground so it is time to get a new pair! I may even get the tan, white and black pair, since these are my favorite sandals for spring and summer.
- Red Ballet Flats: I have already pulled the trigger on similar shoes, but I love that these have a small heel. It is a shame they are on back order until April, but I think these are so classic and can really elevated a basic, neutral look.
