Q: How many times is it acceptable to watch “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” this holiday season? A: The limit does not exist. The Jim Carrey version of the Grinch is my absolute favorite movie! I swear I’ve watched it at least 30 times this month just because it just brings me so much joy. Because I watch it so much, of course I had to do a KimberKopy for it (but very much a DIY…which is very obvious). Details on how I made this sweater are below!

So I’ve been sitting on these pictures for a few weeks now, but was waiting to share them. In honor of Taylor Swift’s 30th birthday today, I recreated a few scenes from her Lover music video. I have a feeling she’s going to drop a new single soon, so I’m glad I got these done before then. SHE’S 30 TODAY I CAN’T BELIEVE IT. I could honestly go on and on about Taylor’s birthday, but I really don’t have the time to convey that right now. She just won artist of the decade for Billboard and at the AMAs and I am so proud of her. SO WELL DESERVED. But back to these photos: I used Photoshop for the first time on a few of these! I’m not a pro at either Photoshop or Lightroom, but hey I got it done, right? I also didn’t have to spend a ton of money on these looks because I either borrowed, thrifted, rented or already had all of these pieces. So that’s a personal accomplishment as well. More pics below!

“Wednesday’s at that very special age when a girl has only one thing on her mind.”
“Boys?
“Homicide.”
It’s the day before Halloween, which also means it’s a Wednesday. Which makes for the perfect time to share this KimberKopy. I love the Addams Family movies and especially Christina Ricci’s version of Wednesday. So many great one-liners! There was no question I wanted to recreate Wednesday’s iconic look this Halloween season. I found this adorable pearl collar dress on Amazon and I’m definitely wearing it to work on Thursday. Similar dresses are linked below, and a confession about when I used to trick-or-treat…

Have you ever seen Tim Burton’s 2012 ‘Dark Shadows’? It has to be one of my favorite Halloween movies! Dark Shadows is based off of the show (same name) that aired in the 60’s. The movie takes place in 1970’s Maine, includes vampires, witches, werewolves spiteful ex-lovers, powerful women, and has some wild plot twists. I have always loved Eva Green’s character, Angelique, in this movie. Although she is a vengeful, and crazy ex of the main character, Barnabas, her attention to detail in her revenge points is mighty impressive, she spends decades running a seafood monopoly in the small town of Collinsport, and looks absolutely fabulous while doing it all. I rarely side with the villain in a movie, but this woman knows what she wants and how to get it. I especially love her death in the movie, which I tried to recreate above. More recreations of scenes and the stories behind them are below!

Whether you’ve been following my blog for a while or just stumbled upon it today, you should have figured out by now how much I love Taylor Swift. Total Stan Status. Most of my KimberKopy’s are actually recreations of Taylor Swift outfits and music videos! So in order to celebrate “13 years of Taylor Swift”, I knew I had to do something from her debut album. For those that don’t know, 13 years ago today, Taylor released her first album (and 13’s are a big deal). I have to admit that I didn’t really listen to Taylor or country music when her first album came out, but after discovering her during the Fearless era, she and her music have become such a huge part of my life. For so many years I’ve treated her album releases like Christmas morning, waited eagerly by the TV to see what she was wearing to an award show, saved up money to afford a ticket to her concerts, and spent countless hours listening to her music whether I was happy, heartbroken or just needed to feel understood.
I know that Taylor doesn’t own the masters to most of her work, including her debut album and this song, but I still wanted to share this recreation 1. I am so excited for her to rerecord her albums next year and 2. Despite what has happened and how much I support Taylor, I will always be thankful that on this day 13 years ago she released her first album and changed the music industry and my life forever.

Hey Homecoming Queen
So I have wanted to recreate this out since I saw Kelsea Ballerini in concert last May in Salisbury during the first show of her #MMMTour. This was her opening number outfit and ugh I loved it the second I saw it. I bought these boots 2 years ago for this Halloween costume and am always looking for new reasons to wear them. Kelsea also wore this outfit more recently in her ‘Homecoming Queen?’ music video so I felt it was the perfect time to photograph this outfit. I really love Kelsea’s sense of style and her lyric writing. ‘Homecoming Queen?’ is a really soft country song with some hard-hitting lyrics and that’s what I talk more about below.

You need to calm down… you’re being too loud… I have been waiting to do these recreations since the YNTCD music video came out (which was in JUNE)! It took forever for all of these pieces to come in and I have been so busy lately I haven’t had any time to shoot new photos. So BIG thanks to Allison for taking time out of her Saturday to take these photos of me and then force me to go to Orange Theory after. Something I’m doing slightly different with these posts is adding a part called “Story Behind The Outfit” where I talk about how I got the pieces and any fun facts. Let me know if you like that in the comments!

Lover is officially out! I feel like I’ve been waiting for this album for sooooo long but also this time has flown by. It’s midnight and I’m about to listen to the whole album from iTunes and then I’m getting up at 6:30am to go to Target to get the physical copy and bonus booklets (Taylor Swift’s diaries? Yes, I’ll take ALL OF THEM). I’ll make a post of my first thoughts and ratings for the songs and post them later, but for now I wanted to share some Lover recreation posts I did and some Lover era clothing I found that is all super reasonable. Although I would gladly accept anything from Lirika Matoshi because it is literally perfect for the Lover era, I already know I’m going to throw away all my money this week solely to Taylor Swift. Also, GO LISTEN TO LOVER AND BUY THE ALBUM ON ITUNES!
Read More >>Grace Kelly Recreation + 3 Historical Fiction Books
I have wanted to do this recreation for so long! One of my favorite kinds of recreations to do is old vintage pictures so naturally any pictures of Grace Kelly are 1. worth appreciating and 2. worth while trying to recreate. If you don’t know the original picture I’m talking about, scroll down! In this post I also included three historical fiction books I found at the Bethany Beach Books Store when I was at the beach last week. Historical fiction is definitely my favorite genre and although I’ve only started one of these books, I’m excited for all three and wanted to share. They seem like very easy, light reads so if you are into historical fiction like me, scroll down to see what I’m reading!

A kiss on the hand maybe quite continental
But diamonds are a girl’s best friend
So first of all I want to thank my friend Ashley for giving me the idea to recreate this iconic look. I was telling her how many ideas I have to recreate some iconic looks for the blog and she said “Oh you have to do ‘Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”. I honestly didn’t know what look she was talking about but after checking out the video of Marilyn Monroe singing “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” I fell in love with this look and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. I had to do a little digging for an inexpensive dress and cheap jewelry but I think I did pretty good. Details below!
Oh, also, I want to thank Kalen for going out in public with me while I was dressed like this and taking these pictures for me. I knew I wanted to shoot these at the Renwick Gallery in DC because of the red carpet staircase and the giant chandelier. It was so fun taking these even if a bunch of random strangers stared at me and I’m so happy with how they came out!
