Catwoman Costume for a Twenty-Something

“You’re the second man who killed me this week, but I’ve got seven lives left.”

Supervillan or boujie cat burglar? It’s all the same right? Okay maybe I should have worn cat ears to make it more obvious (like in this post)…but I think they really took away from the overall look. I’m realizing now I could definitely be mistaken for ‘batwoman’ too, ~~so please don’t tell Robert Pattinson I’m coming for his job~~. This is how I would style a catwoman Halloween costume for a twenty-something woman. Leather is one of my favorite materials to wear and really makes this outfit what it is. I don’t have the budget to get the full on catsuit but this is an excellent example of a costume that you really only need to buy 1 or 2 things, and the rest is in your closet.

Breakfast at Tiffany’s Costume for a Twenty-Something

Surprise! I’m a brunette! At least for the week. But I’ll explain that more in another blog post. I am so excited to share this super easy and classic Halloween costume that is perfect for a twenty-something women not doing a whole lot for Halloween, but still wanting to dress up. This is the type of costume that all you need is one or two iconic accessories (dying your hair is optional).

Taylor Swift Street Style: Reputation Era Candids

I think we’ve already been over how one of my favorite hobbies is recreating Taylor Swift outfits. I’ve been thinking of the best way for me to kind of ‘group’ the outfits that I do and I’ve decided to do it by era. And I have such fond memories of the reputation era (and yes, reputation is not capitalized). I had so much fun recreating these looks! I actually took these pictures back in April during the beginning of quarantine and just kept forgetting to post them. I’m posting this blog now because two years ago today I was at the reputation Stadium Tour in DC! Such an amazing show. I’m super emotional because I really, really miss it.

Just about everything I’m wearing in this post was thrifted or something I already owned. I will be linking similar options to these outfits below, but I totally recommend you try thrifting some of these pieces on online stores like Poshmark, ThredUp and Mercari like I did. Better for your wallet and environment!

Met Gala Challenge: Part 2

So because I literally have nothing better to do and I truly love to place dress up, I decided to do the Met Gala Challenge…again. If you haven’t seen my first post, here’s the link. These recreations are made from real clothes that I own and accessories that I already had (it’s that amazing???). And please note: no tinfoil was harmed in the making of these recreations. I had so much fun making these and am pretty proud with how they turned out. Hope you like them!

Met Gala Challenge

Think about the place where you first MET me…

So I decided to do the Met Gala challenge! I’m pretty proud of myself for even trying to recreate something for the challenge and we all have to admit that this tinfoil mess does kind of resemble the original Louis Vuitton masterpiece (see below). I honestly just keep laughing to myself whenever I look at the side-by-side, but you get the point right? Regardless of how ‘accurate’ this dress is, I had fun making it and I’m happy I only used what I already had in the house to do it. If you’ve been on my blog before, you already know I really enjoy recreating famous photos and outfits. I got so excited when I saw Vogue and Billy Porter started a #metgalachallenge in place of the Gala that was supposed to happen this Monday. And course I had to participate with a Taylor Swift look.

Taylor Swift Street Style: Lover Era Candid Recreations

This blog post has been in the works since January. I’ve always loved Taylor Swift’s street style, so I want to start a new series here on the blog of recreating some of my favorite looks. First up: The Lover Era. Now compared to other eras, there have not been a ton of candid options for me to pick from. But I still had a lot of fun finding pieces for these four looks. Rachel Green Outfits: Part 1

So this blog post took a lot to do. Normally I only shoot one outfit in a day, but this time I shot 6! And a video! Friends is my comfort TV show and I’m mega sad it’s not on Netflix anymore. Thankfully with 10 seasons, I have so many outfits I can recreate for a KimberKopy. This is definitely just part 1 of series that I don’t even know how many parts long it will be. But that’s the fun part about my blog: I can do what I want. My favorite part about this blog post is that everything I’m I’m wearing in this is something I already owned or is thrifted from ThredUp or Poshmark. I’m so happy with how these recreations turned out and can’t wait to do more! I included side-by-side comparisons and where I got everything for each outfit below!

Taylor Swift 2019 AMAs Dress Recreation

Words cannot describe how excited I am to FINALLY share this Taylor Swift AMAs recreation. I have been sitting on this idea for MONTHS! Taylor wore this gorgeous Julien Macdonald dress to the 2019 American Music Awards back in November. The moment I laid eyes on it, I was thinking “OMG…I could totally recreate that”. Definitely took a while to implement but here we are. After all, the color green is big in March, so I like to think that even though I’m late on delivery I’m still on brand. Yellow Blank Space Outfit Recreation

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! I think I’m making it a tradition to post a Blank Space recreation every year on Valentine’s Day. Last year when I did this recreation, I think it was the first time I actually bought an entire costume and props just for a recreation. And in just a year we have come a long way! Thank God Blank Space has so many iconic outfits and thank God my attitude towards dating and men right now is still pretty in sync with the message of this music video (not actually, but kinda). Martha May Whovier Recreation

Merry Christmas August May Who! I’m afraid I do have something for you. Your ring back. I’m sorry. But my heart belongs to…someone else.

Merry Christmas everyone! It is legit Christmas morning as I’m finishing up this blog post before I head downstairs to eat breakfast with the fam and open some presents. This is my last Kimberkopy for the Christmas season and I am so excited to share it. I have spent so much time working on this and planning this and I love how these turned out. In case you didn’t already know, the 2000 Grinch movie is my favorite Christmas movie and I wanted to recreate one of Martha’s looks for such a long time.
