I would have been at Loverfest West last weekend, and Loverfest East this weekend. How upsetting is that?! If it weren’t for this global pandemic thing, I would be having the time of my life screaming my lungs out to ‘Cruel Summer’. But alas, that is not happening. Honestly, I’m a little doubtful it will happen next year too. But even though it’s not happening this year, I still wanted to share this post. I’ll probably end up redoing this blog when/if Loverfest actually happens next year, but I guess as a tribute to what would have been an amazing show, here are so outfit options to give you inspiration for when these shows actually happen.

If there is one thing I’m sure about in these “unprecedented times” it’s that masks are here to stay. I don’t really leave the house unless it is for shopping or some outdoor activity and I always bring a mask with me. Here in Maryland, masks are required in all businesses and outdoor public areas. I know for certain this is not the case in other states, but it’s my personal opinion it should be. And it just so happens the CDC thinks so too. So allow me to get a little candid on the mask wearing “issue” below:

Don’t we love a fun, summer sundress? From what I can tell for the last few years, patterns with fruits have been really in. I know lemons was a huge thing during the spring, and I guess with this post, I’m trying to make peaches a thing. Who doesn’t love a sweet Georgia peach? I actually picked out this dress because I love the color combo of orange, yellow and teal. If we weren’t in a pandemic right now I would probably wear this outfit to brunch or walking around Annapolis. But for now, you get pictures of me wearing it in my backyard. Links are below!

I love a dress that gives off a vintage feel! This dress makes me want to attend a sock-hop or go to a drive-in. Which is exactly why I styled it with my Converse and cat eye sunglasses. I am such a sundress girlie these days and I am currently renting this one from Rent the Runway! If you’re looking for a modern 50’s look, I hope my pictures give you a little inspo.

I think we’ve already been over how one of my favorite hobbies is recreating Taylor Swift outfits. I’ve been thinking of the best way for me to kind of ‘group’ the outfits that I do and I’ve decided to do it by era. And I have such fond memories of the reputation era (and yes, reputation is not capitalized). I had so much fun recreating these looks! I actually took these pictures back in April during the beginning of quarantine and just kept forgetting to post them. I’m posting this blog now because two years ago today I was at the reputation Stadium Tour in DC! Such an amazing show. I’m super emotional because I really, really miss it.
Just about everything I’m wearing in this post was thrifted or something I already owned. I will be linking similar options to these outfits below, but I totally recommend you try thrifting some of these pieces on online stores like Poshmark, ThredUp and Mercari like I did. Better for your wallet and environment!

A few weeks ago I did a huge Target run…from the comfort of my own home through the Target app. It’s truly amazing how much junk you can accumulate in an online shopping cart in just a few minutes. That was the day Target dropped 3 new collaborations with fashion designers (much like the Lilly for Target collection a few years back). This dress I’m wearing above is part of the Lisa Marie Fernandez for Target collection and I absolutely love it. I’ve been on the hunt for an eyelet lace dress like this for a while and I especially love the tie around the waist. This dress is perfect for my work from home days, but also comfortable enough that I can wear it while running errands (because let’s be honest, those are the only two things I do these days). I also bought this gorgeous CushniexTarget dress that day, as well as a bunch of books, hair products, a sports bra, PJ shorts… the list goes on! If you’re interested in seeing more from that Target haul, comment below! But for now, here are more pictures of me in this dress:

Lately I’ve been trying to be a better consumer. A more ethical consumer. I am a firm believer that you hold a lot of power in where you spend your money. One of the ways in which I’m trying to be better is by buying from local and small businesses-especially Black-owned businesses. I saw such a strong community push to support Black-owned businesses in recent weeks, but I don’t want that to just be a trend. I’m glad to see a lot of these businesses getting new promo and selling out like crazy. But I’m personally striving to incorporate purchasing from Black-owned businesses more frequently, especially since I love so many of these products I just tried out.

Do you ever stumble upon the most perfect dress while thrifting?? I found this super fun dress while thrifting at Second Avenue last week and fell in love with it! So Kayla and I decided to have a ~socially-distant~ photoshoot at Savage Mill.

Raise your hand if you’ve seen a single Tiktok video of an influencer telling you that you can make your loungewear look super chic just by adding gold jewelry? I have watched so many! And while I seriously doubt that a little bling is going to amp up my dirty sweatpants/baggy sweatshirt combo, all of those videos have got me thinking about things that glitter. This post is my gold jewelry ‘wishlist’ but there are so many sales happening this weekend, don’t be surprised if I start posting pics in a few weeks with one or two of these…

Up until this point, I have not been shopping at all. I really lost my motivation to do my usual online shopping because I I truly had no place to wear anything to. It’s not a fun thought. And while I’m personally very pessimistic and critical of states reopening right now, it has occurred to me that we won’t be in lockdown forever. Not to mention, shopping for clothes and finding good deals brings me joy, which is something I’m trying to cling to right now at any chance I can. Here are a few things currently in my shopping cart that I’m excited to wear after quarantine.
