Something that I’ve recently discovered about quarantine is that I have a new chance to truly dress for my own person style and not for dress codes. Not that my work is super strict anyway, but there are certain things I can wear in quarantine and not in the office (crop tops, distressed jeans, etc). About 6 months ago, my office switched from business casual to jean casual. But even then, I still couldn’t wear a lot of the clothes I own. It turns out this is now officially week 10 of me working from home, so I’ve really had a chance to experiment more with my style and try some new combos in my closet. I don’t know about you, but if I just wear sweatpants and pajamas all day, I get like nothing done. And since the only time I see my coworkers and clients now is on a webcam, I’ve come up with a bunch of new outfits that are comfy, but don’t make me feel like I could go take a nap. I’ve been having fun with this and hope you find some new WFH outfit inspiration (so you can give the sweatpants a break).

Words cannot describe the sweet, sweet torture I feel about this dress. The love I have for this dress knows no bounds, but I totally hate the fact that it’s normally $700 (I also have no place to wear it to). I love everything about this dress from the lavender color and how it falls on me, to the material and how it falls on me. It is a rental, but this is honestly just one of those pieces of clothing that I can’t stop thinking about. And no, I’m not going to buy it because even at the discount rate, it’s still too expensive for me. And I need to reiterate that I still am not leaving my house for anything besides grocery shopping. But what I will do is make this blog post featuring several pictures of myself in this dress that I adore but couldn’t keep. True heartbreak.

As I’ve been shopping and on the hunt for sales, I’ve notices a new trend across a bunch of stores that is actually so perfect for spring and summer: lemons! It’s actually kind of crazy how I stumbled upon so many random pieces of clothing related to lemons. Personally, I love the color yellow and I think fruit patterns are really fun and quirky. So I pulled together this blog post of all of the fun lemon print clothes and accessories I’ve found on the internet (and most things are on sale too!)

So because I literally have nothing better to do and I truly love to place dress up, I decided to do the Met Gala Challenge…again. If you haven’t seen my first post, here’s the link. These recreations are made from real clothes that I own and accessories that I already had (it’s that amazing???). And please note: no tinfoil was harmed in the making of these recreations. I had so much fun making these and am pretty proud with how they turned out. Hope you like them!

Think about the place where you first MET me…
So I decided to do the Met Gala challenge! I’m pretty proud of myself for even trying to recreate something for the challenge and we all have to admit that this tinfoil mess does kind of resemble the original Louis Vuitton masterpiece (see below). I honestly just keep laughing to myself whenever I look at the side-by-side, but you get the point right? Regardless of how ‘accurate’ this dress is, I had fun making it and I’m happy I only used what I already had in the house to do it. If you’ve been on my blog before, you already know I really enjoy recreating famous photos and outfits. I got so excited when I saw Vogue and Billy Porter started a #metgalachallenge in place of the Gala that was supposed to happen this Monday. And course I had to participate with a Taylor Swift look.

Happy Easter! Raise your hand if this is the most bizarre Easter you’ve ever had. My family watched Easter service on Zoom this morning in our pajamas. Then we made breakfast and had a ham dinner of just me, my Oma and my parents. It’s been a really quiet, lovely day, but honestly it doesn’t feel a whole lot like Easter. And that’s okay because nothing really feels normal anymore. But that feeling didn’t stop me from spending time with my family and dressing up like an Easter egg.

This blog post has been in the works since January. I’ve always loved Taylor Swift’s street style, so I want to start a new series here on the blog of recreating some of my favorite looks. First up: The Lover Era. Now compared to other eras, there have not been a ton of candid options for me to pick from. But I still had a lot of fun finding pieces for these four looks. Everything I’m wearing is either rented, thrifted, from a small business, or something I already owned. Details and more pictures are below!

At a time when we’re all social distancing and handling the global pandemic in the best ways we can, I constantly find myself wondering how I would be spending my time if I wasn’t quarantining in my house. And I don’t want to be sad over the ‘what-ifs’ of what we could all be doing if this horrible virus wasn’t spreading, but I think you’d be lying if you said you don’t think about it either. For example, this year I was really looking forward to going to see the cherry blossoms in DC. I rented this dress from Rent the Runway specifically for that reason. But the truth is I’m not going to get all bummed for not being able to go, especially when my neighbors have this beautiful tree outside their house and all I had to do was walk 10 yards away from my house to get these pictures. I’m super happy with how they turned out!

So this blog post took a lot to do. Normally I only shoot one outfit in a day, but this time I shot 6! And a video! Friends is my comfort TV show and I’m mega sad it’s not on Netflix anymore. Thankfully with 10 seasons, I have so many outfits I can recreate for a KimberKopy. This is definitely just part 1 of series that I don’t even know how many parts long it will be. But that’s the fun part about my blog: I can do what I want. My favorite part about this blog post is that everything I’m I’m wearing in this is something I already owned or is thrifted from ThredUp or Poshmark. I’m so happy with how these recreations turned out and can’t wait to do more! I included side-by-side comparisons and where I got everything for each outfit below!

Words cannot describe how excited I am to FINALLY share this Taylor Swift AMAs recreation. I have been sitting on this idea for MONTHS! Taylor wore this gorgeous Julien Macdonald dress to the 2019 American Music Awards back in November. The moment I laid eyes on it, I was thinking “OMG…I could totally recreate that”. Definitely took a while to implement but here we are. After all, the color green is big in March, so I like to think that even though I’m late on delivery I’m still on brand. More pictures, how I made this dress and the story on where I shot these pictures are all below!
