New Years Eve is less than 2 weeks away, which is just enough time to order a brand new outfit for whatever exciting New Years plans you have! I am currently deciding between two dresses I have (which are actually featured in one of these collages below). I love dressing up for NYE so I had so much fun putting together these guides! Hope you find something you love!

New Years Eve is one of my favorite holidays just based on the notion that it is the most socially acceptable holiday to wear glitter. Most years I don’t even have decisive plans before I buy an outfit. That was the case this year when I bought this dress from Lulu’s on Black Friday. You can probably already tell how much I love this green color this season so I really couldn’t resist buying this shimmery, sparkly dress. I’m so glad this dress matches up with the plans that I made after I bought it!

As someone who works 40 hours a week and is required to wear business casual 80% of the time (shout out to Yoga Monday where I get to wear yoga pants to work), I’m always on the hunt for versatile clothes that I can wear to work and on the weekends when I’m adventuring with friends. So when I find dresses like this, I snatch them up as quickly as possible. I’ve been able to wear this dress to work with some loafers and to a holiday party with these over-the-knee boots. I also wore this exact outfit to see Anastasia at the Hippodrome in Baltimore the other day with Allison (and the show was spectacular btw). I can already tell this dress is going to get a lot of wear in the next few weeks before Christmas!

I love love love getting dresses up for the holidays. Its seriously such a shame I don’t have enough parties or events to go to…so I suppose I’ll have to live vicariously through this outfit guide. I am loving the whole jumpsuit trend thats going on and I keep finding more and more dresses that would be perfect for a holiday party..but alas, I lack any sort of invitation to such a soiree. Here are some of my top picks (that you may also want to get express shipping on if your holiday party you need it for is before Christmas).

Do you have an article of clothing that hangs in your closet for 364 days, just waiting for that one day when you can finally wear it? For me, that is this dress. I bought this dress when I was a sophomore in college when I was still figuring out my personal style and felt like I needed to switch up what I was gonna wear to something I have gone to every year since I was born: Christmas Eve church service. Ever since that, I’ve worn this every year without fail. What can I say? We love a reoccurring classic.

One of the earliest Christmas memories is my family and I have is going to Christmas Eve service at my church. For years we have helped out with the service and I always look forward to seeing familiar faces and all the adorable little babies dressed up. I myself love dressing to the nines for any occasion, but I think dressing up for Christmas Eve and going to church requires a certain kind of dress that is both conservative and classy. But that doesn’t mean it can’t be fashionable and festive! Here are a few dresses I like (and if you like them too, you may wanna pay a little extra for 3 day shipping, because Christmas Eve is only 2 weeks away!)

Buffalo gals won’t you come out tonight, won’t you come out tonight…Can you name that movie classic? I’ll give you a hint… It’s a Wonderful movie. The reason I’m quoting such old time-y classics is because this outfit gives me major vintage vibes. I’ve had this skirt in the back of my closet for years after I wore it one time to a Christmas Eve service. I was recently cleaning out my closet when I found it again! Midi skirts are super flattering on my tall build and pear shape and this color just screams Christmas time. I already know I’m wearing this to a cookie party next week, and I can’t wait!
Black Sweater Dress
It’s finally December and I couldn’t be happier. My schedule is filling up so fast and I wouldn’t have it any other way because I love keeping busy, especially around the holidays. This past weekend was pretty hectic for me, but I got to see so many close friends, so for that I am thankful. I worry I’m on the edge of getting sick at the moment, but hopefully drinking a ton of water and getting some much needed sleep will help fight that off. It certainly doesn’t help that I prefer to take my blog pictures outside in the freezing rain (yes it was raining when I took these pictures) but thankfully this outfit is surprisingly warm. Details below!
Grinch-y Green Dress
You nauseate me… Mr. Grinch. Fun fact: I have already watched ‘How the Grinch Stole Christmas’ (the Jim Carrey version) SEVEN times already….and it’s not even December yet. My friends will call me obsessed but honestly how can you not love such a hilarious classic? I could probably recite the entire movie…so you get the point…big Grinch guy. So my love of the Grinch is the inspiration behind this blog post. I got this dress a few weeks ago from Old Navy and its so soft and flowy. I’ve already worn it to work and church a few times. I really love this green color during the wintery months because this color definitely reminds me of Christmas, especially with a red plaid scarf. I’m also wearing my new DSW booties that make me super, unnecessarily tall. What can I say? I like to intimidate people…just like the Grinch…
Tan and Red Striped Sweater
Gobble Gobble y’all! It’s Turkey Day! Today my aunts, uncles and cousins are coming over to my house. Both of my brothers also made it home so its a full house! I’m trying out this new butternut squash recipe I hope everyone likes (but I haven’t been able to make it yet since the turkey is still in the oven). My family is loud and messy (in the best way) and I’m so excited to eat all of the food my mom and dad made this morning. Anyone else have sauerkraut on Thanksgiving? Right now my house smells like cabbage and I love it! Anyway, hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving, however you spend it, and here are some pictures of my new sweater that I’m wearing today. I got it from a local boutique downtown but I was able to find the link online! It’s super big and soft which means I can still wear it with a food baby and for my after dinner nap. Sounds like a perfect Thanksgiving to me!
