Happy Saturday! I haven’t posted an outfit on here in a while, but I’ve noticed a trend of scarves lately that I’ve wanted to try for a while. I got this particular scarf from my mom after she cleaned out her closet, as well as a bunch of other clothing pieces that I can’t wait to show you on the blog. I also just got new Steve Madden ‘Ecentrcq’ sneakers to try to give my poor, beat up Converse a break. I’m already so glad I bought them because they are super versatile. Spring is here and I have so many outfits I want to wear, but obviously the weather didn’t get the memo. Its like 42 degrees where I am today which makes me so sad because I am so ready for warmth. I am also trying a new Lightroom filter on these pictures, so let me know what you think!
Best Graduation Dresses
I’m pretty much in shock that I’ll be graduating in less than 2 months. I seriously can’t even wrap my head around it, but theres also so much I’m looking forward to. I’m gearing up for graduation and prepping to take a bunch of my friends’ grad pics. I myself will probably take about 5 rounds of grad pics (is that excessive?) with my friends and family, so right now I’m going crazy looking for the perfect graduation dress. Below I have linked and listed my favorite graduation dresses that I’ve found (so far) during my hunt from some of my favorite stores. Some dresses are a splurge and some dresses are a bargain, but no matter what, I’m sure you’ll be able to find the perfect dress for your graduation. Notice I’ve listed only white dresses because at the moment that is what I’m looking for, but a bunch of these come in different colors if that’s what you’re looking for!
NYE Style Guide
I love dressing up for New Years Eve. I think its one of the best times where you can really go crazy and wear something daring and fun. Plus, when else is it acceptable to wear a ton of sequins? Even though NYE only a few days away, I have been working on this style guide all of Winter Break and wanted to post it in case you’re like me and still have no idea what to wear.
Most of these are on sale and are going fast! If you plan on ordering any of these dresses for New Years, make sure you get 2 day shipping! Theres no point in ordering the perfect dress or outfit if it doesn’t get here in time! I would also recommend going to your local store to find some of these pieces. Good luck!
3 Ways to Wear a Sequin Skirt
New Years Eve is just around the corner! I seriously love dressing up for this holiday because of all the glitz and glamour. This year, my friends and I are going all out and I can’t wait (but its also a secret of what everyone is wearing). A few years ago, I got this sequin midi skirt from Lulu’s to wear to a NYE party. I haven’t decided yet if I want to wear it this year, but after creating a few looks in this blog post, I’m highly considering it. Not only is this skirt perfect for New Years, but I also wanted to show other styles that convey a different kind of look for various occasions around the holidays. Not everyone feels bold enough to buy and wear a sequin skirt, but I wanted to show all the different ways this skirt can be worn. So if you have just purchased a sequin skirt, or are considering it for NYE, hear are 3 different ways to wear it. Read More >>
Fit and Flare Ivory Coat
Merry Christmas Eve everyone! This has to be one of my favorite days of the year, probably right behind Christmas Day. I’m currently getting ready to go to church with my family where we will all usher the first Christmas Eve service of the night. I love when they dim the lights in the church, we light the candles and sing “Silent Night”. I can’t wait! Then my family will come home, eat dinner and drink eggnog (even though I hate eggnog).
This ivory coat I’m featuring on the blog today will also look great with my Christmas Eve dress that I’m wearing tonight. I took these pictures back when I was at school and Allison and I stumbled upon this adorable Christmas Tree sale downtown. This coat gives me serious Olivia Pope vibes-to the point where I almost named this blog post “It’s handled”. It’s on sale now at Nordstrom!
Teddy Bear Sweater
I am about to share with you the best thing that has ever happened to me: this sweater. Okay I am acting a little dramatic, but I seriously love this sweater that I got on Black Friday from American Eagle. I asked for it in every color for Christmas. I wore it the other day when I was in Bethany Beach, DE watching the sunrise with my friends, Allison and Ashley. It’s so big and warm, which was honestly ideal because the beach in December is chilly. This particular morning was pretty mild and for that I am grateful. This has to be the most beautiful sunrise I have ever seen-and I promise I’m not being dramatic when I say that.
Christmas Tree Farm
A few weeks ago, the Eastern Shore got hit with a snow storm that made finals seem even more unbearable, because I just wanted to play in the snow and get ready for Christmas! I have one final left this week that I’m still working on, but that seems to be the only thing standing in my way between me and Winter Break. While I’m writing this, I’m trying to finishing my PR project and watching Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer in a random classroom on campus. But even with this final project, I wanted to share pictures from when my roommates, Allison and Jaelin, and I went to a Christmas tree farm with Allison’s family to cut down her family tree. We drove about an hour away in the snow, but the roads weren’t too bad and it was a beautiful winter wonderland.
Best Christmas Eve Service Dresses
Being raised in a Christian household, Christmas Eve service has always been a big deal to my family and myself. My parents raised me to always dress very proper and eloquent when going to church. Even now when my mom can’t tell me “don’t wear this” or “you can’t wear that”, I still stick to wearing appropriate and formal clothing when going to church. Modest clothing doesn’t have to be boring! Now that I’m older and my entire family helps with ushering at the Christmas Eve service, I always want to wear something special for my church’s Christmas Eve Service. But I don’t always want to break the bank by doing so. I linked some adorable dresses below that will fit into anyone’s budget-whether that is under $200, $100 or $50-and dresses that I find very modest and stylish. I would wear any one of these dresses and most of them are on sale right now!
Velvet & Sheer Formal Dress
Not sure how professional this post is, but the other day I had my club formal and I got to bring 5 of my closest friends as my dates. (Who needs one male date when you can have a girls night with your besties?!) The formal was small, but it was so incredibly fun. We started off the night at my friend Lexi’s apartment where she set up this adorable backdrop for pictures. I was literally geeking at the exposed brick and string lights. I also bought this new dress from Lulu’s specifically for this formal during Cyber Monday, so it was a steal! This isn’t really a traditional blogger post, but I never said I was good at blogging… or traditional in anyway. I just want to highlight how fierce and drop dead gorgeous my friends looked as my dates, so here ya go.
#LazyCollegeKidLook
(Oops I almost forgot about this post) I am a firm believer that the weeks in between Thanksgiving and Christmas are the worst for college students. I have a ton of tests, research papers and projects all due by the end of the semester so I am swamped.I’m hoping these next few weeks will fly by so I can focus on the holidays. the bright side, I’ll most likely be living in my leggings, yoga pants and flannels for the next few weeks. This is my go-to “lazy college kid” look, for days when I just need to focus on school, but don’t want to look like a walking trashcan.
