This is what I like to call a good transition outfit for the week of Thanksgiving. Combining the wool burnt orange/brown sweater with ruby red corduroys is an ideal material and color combo for this next week. This may even be a contender for my Thanksgiving outfit. Plus, I just know I’ll be wearing these pants all December, but most likely paired with forest green and white. Now that it is getting to be the end of fall and beginning of Christmas (which is it’s own season), this is how I would style red corduroy flare pants.

My gut instinct whenever I wear orange is to make an ‘orange you glad…” joke, but I think I’ll pass on that one. But it was on the table! Today I wanted to share this pretty effortlessly-cool outfit that is great for fall, and I wanted to share some exciting news. I took these pictures when I was in Corolla, NC with my friends last week. Taylor, Abby and I drove down the street to see the Currituck Beach Lighthouse. It was definitely a quick sight-seeing trip, but Abby rediscovered what Boomerang was, so clearly it was worth it. I was so happy this sweater was delivered right before my trip so I could pack it. I got it from thredUP and you should keep reading if you want to know why I’m so excited to be wearing it.

Halloween is less than a week away! I don’t want to come on here and encourage anyone to go to a party or bar because in case you forgot, we’re still in a pandemic. But I know there are safe ways to celebrate the holiday this weekend. I wanted to show off some fun and easy best friends costumes with my actual best friend, Kayla. We took these at her house a few weeks ago after a homemade brunch. And as it turns out, for every single one of these costumes, I needed orange hair. Unfortunately I didn’t order the orange Overtone like I originally planned so I just edited these in Lightroom. I felt like it was a crime to edit over Kayla’s hair color, so that stayed. Hope you find some Halloween inspiration from these pics!

I’ve gotten so tired of my sports-school-branded sweatpants with holes and stains in them. There are a few sales happening this weekend, but I also think now is a great time to order comfortable matching set loungewear because it’s getting chillier. A few months ago, you would have caught me dressing up every day for working from home. But now that it’s colder out, I am struggling just to leave my nice warm bed. So I wanted to share some matching sets I’m crushing on and let you know that so many of these pieces are on sale this weekend!

“You’re the second man who killed me this week, but I’ve got seven lives left.”
Supervillan or boujie cat burglar? It’s all the same right? Okay maybe I should have worn cat ears to make it more obvious (like in this post)…but I think they really took away from the overall look. I’m realizing now I could definitely be mistaken for ‘batwoman’ too, so please don’t tell Robert Pattinson I’m coming for his job. This is how I would style a catwoman Halloween costume for a twenty-something woman. Leather is one of my favorite materials to wear and really makes this outfit what it is. I don’t have the budget to get the full on catsuit but this is an excellent example of a costume that you really only need to buy 1 or 2 things, and the rest is in your closet.
Breakfast at Tiffany’s Costume for a Twenty-Something
Surprise! I’m a brunette! At least for the week. But I’ll explain that more in another blog post. I am so excited to share this super easy and classic Halloween costume that is perfect for a twenty-something women not doing a whole lot for Halloween, but still wanting to dress up. This is the type of costume that all you need is one or two iconic accessories (dying your hair is optional).

For someone who doesn’t leave her house that often anymore, I still get really excited about fall fashion. It finally (and consistently) feels like fall here in Maryland and I am flourishing. I love this weather and the changing leaves. I basically just want to go frolicking, especially since being outside is one of the safest things to do these days (COVID-wise). To compliment the changing scenery outside and get you even more excited for fall weather, I wanted to share 3 sales that are happening this weekend that you don’t want to miss!

Did I ever mention how much I love the color ‘burnt orange’ in the fall? I’m going to guess definitely since I tend to wear a lot of this color in October and November. I randomly threw this outfit together while researching fall trends on Tumblr and Pinterest. I get the best fashion and photo inspiration from there. I envision this outfit would be amazing for like a fall date night or happy hour with the girls…if I was going to either of those these days. But anyway, here is how I would style a burnt orange slip dress.

I’ve always love supporting small businesses, but now that spooky szn and cozy szn are here, I may have gone a little overboard with my purchases. I’m excited to show you on the blog everything I got when it all gets here, but I wanted to highlight some stores today so you have time to order things before Halloween. There is just something about buying a product that you know was handmade by someone because it’s their passion project. Personally, I am trying to become more crafty, I’ve been sending more letters and packages to friends and I have been selling a lot of my clothes secondhand. So I know that a lot goes into the personal touches and presentation when packaging something for someone, and all of these products are just so unique. Check out some of the Etsy shops and small businesses I’m crushing on lately.
