It’s crazy to think that the last time I made a cocktail post, it was at the very beginning of the pandemic. I know so many people are ready to jump fully into fall, but there are still parts of me that want to hold on to summer a little bit longer. My tone about summer ending usually changes by the hour, so why not enjoy an end-of-summer happy hour?! Here are 4 cocktails I’ve been enjoying the last few weeks of summer.

I suppose summer is officially over now that Labor Day has passed, but apparently that message has not gotten to Mother Nature yet. September is always a weird month to me because I am normally so ready to jump into fall, but it remains super hot and humid out. Normally I wait until my birthday (September 24) has passed before I completely succumb to fall, so that is the energy you’re going to get from me.
The other day, I was enjoying a happy hour on the deck with my parents when I decided to get creative with some drinks (which will be in another blog post) and appetizers. I found a few random recipes for bruschetta on Pinterest but then stumbled upon this recipe for a peach and goat cheese crostini. I was surprised I basically had everything in my house already (just needed a baguette) and it was so quick and easy to make. I highly recommend making this for your next outdoor, end of summer happy hour!

Lately I’ve been trying to be a better consumer. A more ethical consumer. I am a firm believer that you hold a lot of power in where you spend your money. One of the ways in which I’m trying to be better is by buying from local and small businesses-especially Black-owned businesses. I saw such a strong community push to support Black-owned businesses in recent weeks, but I don’t want that to just be a trend. I’m glad to see a lot of these businesses getting new promo and selling out like crazy. But I’m personally striving to incorporate purchasing from Black-owned businesses more frequently, especially since I love so many of these products I just tried out.

Raise your hand if you’ve made banana bread in the last few weeks! I feel like that was a formal inauguration to fully committing to staying home to help fight COVID-19. I’ve always been a big baker since high school, but the obsession has definitely gotten more severe since my quarantine. And honestly, baking this much makes me miss my brothers because they are usually here to help me eat all of it. Only I don’t think they would be totally crazy with all the things I’m baking now, because I have been trying to throw a healthy edge into everything. If you’re in need of some new ideas to bake to help pass the time while at home, consider one of these five recipes.

I have been spending an embarrassing amount of time on TikTok lately. Like I used to be one of those people that swore they would never get on TikTok… and now here I am. I’m not a dancer and I usually use TikTok to show off my recreations, but at the same time, I find myself wasting a ton of time just watching videos. People are so creative! And it is very common for me to stay up late laughing to myself at some dumb TikToks, and be exhausted the next morning for work. But on the bright side, I am learning some new skills, like how to cook new things! TikTok recipes are usually really simple and only require a few ingredients, but you will have to watch the video over and over again, and pause it a lot to capture the directions. But it’s worth it! Here are 5 new recipes I learned from some cool people on TikTok.

Every hour is happy hour during quarantine, right?
If you’re like me, you’re probably missing going to the bars or happy hour with your friends. So if you’re going a little stir crazy in quarantine right now and you’re looking to learn a new skill or just waste some time, consider learning to master these 5 classic cocktails.

One of my favorite new Thanksgiving traditions has become drinking mimosas in the morning with my mom and Oma (that’s right, my 90 year old Oma loves a good mimosa!). Of course this is normally after my brothers and I run a 5K because we’re that family now. And then I like to eat cinnamon rolls and watch the Macy’s Day Parade. But no matter how you spend you Thanksgiving morning, I think this festive Thanksgiving mimosa will make your morning more fun.

Coffee is one of my favorite things in this world. I started drinking it when I was 11 and have not stopped since. I love the culture that surrounds coffee (everything from coffee shops, special holiday drinks, ‘hey wanna grab a cup of coffee?’) and of course the actual taste of coffee. Studies have shown that coffee itself isn’t unhealthy, but the caffeine and sugar that often accompany coffee can really take a negative toll on your health. I know National Coffee Day was a few weeks ago, but I believe there is never a bad time to talk about coffee. So here are some tips to making your everyday coffee a little healthier.

Something that I’ve been really loving lately is my Hungry Harvest box. What is it? Well HH is basically ugly vegetable delivery box.
