For those who don’t know, I just turned 22 last week. You can read all about my birthday party here! After a super fun weekend, I went on a little adventure on my actual birthday where I collected some free goodies all over town that you can get only on your birthday. I posted a picture on my Snapchat of all my loot and my friends went crazy! They kept asking me how I got all this stuff for free, so here is a quick rundown of some places that will give you something free on your birthday and how you can get it:
Feelin’ 22
“I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling twenty-twooooo…” You better believe that song was on repeat for the last 72 hours.
This is a life update/photo diary post about my 22nd birthday party I had over the weekend. I’m big on themes so I decorated my living room with all of these galaxy decorations and string lights. I also asked everyone to wear all black or dress for the theme and everyone did! My little brother drove up for the night from College Park. If you don’t know which one he is, he’s the one killing it in the mint romphim. I also bought a ton of Polaroid film and even brought out my DSLR for a few pictures at the start of the night. I’m kind of obsessed with documenting my life through photos, but if you’re on this blog…you probably already knew that. My roommate made me a beautiful galaxy cake, which is pretty much the reason for the theme. I wish I had gotten a picture of it.
My friends and family are totally awesome and made my birthday so special. Theres nothing that great about turning 22, except for the fact that its my “Taylor Swift Birthday”. For anyone reading this who wished me a happy birthday or sent me a present, thank you and I love you a lot. Please enjoy these pictures of a wild night and my first as an old and wise 22-year-old… you know, because I learned all the lessons I needed to learn when I was 21 *wink wink*.
Best Planners for College Students
School is almost here so if you haven’t already picked out a planner for the school year, this is the perfect post for you! I can’t live without my planner so I’ve become extremely particular as to the kind I get. During college I’ve tried out all different brands and types of agendas, and this past summer I really did my research on some popular agendas. So based on my own experiences and some advice from some friends, here are the advantages and drawbacks of some of the most popular planners for college students. Hopefully this will help you pick out which planner is best for you!
15 Dorm Essentials for College Girls
Hi everyone! As school is quickly approaching, I wanted to tell you my 15 Dorm Essentials! I hope this is helpful for anyone who is going away to college for the first time. I lived in the dorms for 3 years as both a freshman and RA. After setting up my own room and doing countless room inspections, I’ve picked up on what makes a great dorm room. All of these items in my collage are pink which isn’t usually my style, but I still thought were cute (my freshman dorm was teal and black and white, but that’s because my mom picked out most of my stuff because I was not excited for college when I was 18). Below I listed and linked what I think you will absolutely need for college (and you won’t want to forget it):
Life Update
Haven’t done a life update in a while, so here is what is currently going on for Kim:
101 Things in 1001 Days
I have wanted to do a list like this ever since I saw Isabella’s list on Yep It’s Prep. (TBH she’s like totally my blogging girlcrush and provided mad inspiration for me to make my own blog in the first place, so big shoutout to her). This post reminds me of when some friends and I used to make summer lists in high school of everything we wanted to accomplish before school started. It got a little aggressive and weird because we made it a contest, but none the less, it was still a solid memory. I’m glad to be doing something like that again.
These are the 101 things I want to accomplish in the next 1001 days. A lot of them have to do with travel. A lot of them have to do with trying new things. A lot of them have to do with bettering myself. All of them are about living life to the fullest (as cliche as that sounds) and seizing opportunities. By the time this list is finish, I will have graduated college. Will I be in grad school? Will I have a full-time job? Will I still be living in Maryland? There are so many unknowns about my future, but that honestly excites me.
1001 days. That is 2.75 years. A lot can happen and change in a person’s life during that time. I’m trying to remember where I was 1001 days ago today and wow that feels like a totally different world. I know a lot of really exciting things are going to happen within these 1001 days. I hope its a period of spectacular transformation for me. I hope the next 1001 days are full of adventure and excitement. I hope I can look back on this list and know I tried my hardest to accomplish as much as possible, and smile back on the memories made because of this list.
I want to encourage you to make your own list as well! It gives you things to look forward to, motivation to push yourself and also achieve some things you’ve always wanted to do. I’ve already forced some of my friends to make a list with me, so join the fun and comment below if you’re joining this journey with me.
4th of July Weekend Recap
Hope you enjoyed the long 4th of July weekend! I went to West Virginia with my family and then Frederick to visit my freshman year roomie. It was very low-key and relaxing. You can read more about my other adventures this weekend later, but for now here are some of the pictures I took this weekend and on the 4th of July.
10 Kim Thoughts: My Life At The Moment
Here are some random Kim thoughts and what is currently going on in my life:
My First Post!
Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog. Bear with me as I try to format it and get it running all by myself. I created this blog as a way to document all my adventures and share with the world what is going on in my life. At some point I’ll have my portfolio and photography website hooked up to this thing. All in good time!
