Like many of us, my body has changed in the last 2 years since the Panda Express started. And I don’t think I realized it until February. Given- I was isolating and bunkering down in my apartment for most of winter due to all the COVID going around. As I get older, I start to accept that my body needs consistent movement and exercise in order to function at it’s prime. So when I was sick and not moving my body as frequently as I used to, its no wonder my body changed.

I have been meaning to make this post for months but life has totally gotten away from me. This is a very detailed life update and something very personal. But what’s the point of having a blog if I can’t share my life decisions on here? In March I decided to switch from the pill to an IUD. The decision came after months of research and weaning myself off of the pill. This post is not a medical journal. I am not your doctor. I like to share my opinions and make recommendations on my blog, but I feel very uncomfortable trying to do that with this post. You can take my account as a reference if you’re considering birth control options for yourself, but I will always say that you need to take the professional and medical advice of your doctor over anything I say in this post. Okay… now that we got that out of the way, let’s get into it.

If you’ve hung out on the blog since last year, you’ll know I normally do this thing called “No Fun February”. For the past three years, I have completed my own monthly health and money challenge during February (yes, the shortest month of the year). The concept evolved from a no-spend month one of my best friends, Jesse, did back in college. The objectives of No Fun Feb are to eat healthier, cut back on alcohol, not go out as much and save some money. But this year I decided not to partake and this is why. (TBH, it should be obvious).

If there is one thing I’m sure about in these “unprecedented times” it’s that masks are here to stay. I don’t really leave the house unless it is for shopping or some outdoor activity and I always bring a mask with me. Here in Maryland, masks are required in all businesses and outdoor public areas. I know for certain this is not the case in other states, but it’s my personal opinion it should be. And it just so happens the CDC thinks so too. So allow me to get a little candid on the mask wearing “issue” below:

Let’s talk skincare products. Something I have always wanted for myself is a set skincare routine. We’ve all been there. Life gets overwhelming and complicated. We revert into ourselves and things just feel ‘off’. We feel low and unworthy and just not our best selves. This feeling is not new to me and is one of the main reasons I started going to therapy. So if you’ve ever felt this way, I wanted you to know that 1. you’re not alone because 2. I deal with this all the time. Whether its because of stress or heartbreak or anxiety or…anything, here are some ways I’ve helped myself get out of a funk.

Today’s blog post is a little heavier than most other’s that I do. I have briefly mentioned in other posts how I’ve been going to see a therapist. Today I want to talk about why. This is a deep blog post not because I’m ashamed to go to therapy. I am 100% not ashamed by this at all (let’s get that straight). I think every single person could use a therapist and I want very much to normalize making mental health a priority. But I am talking very personally about some of my struggles and issues which I don’t normally highlight on my blog.
