I have wanted to write this post for ages! I got my very first tattoos in July 2021. But it was only last week that I finally photographed them the way I wanted to. I have 3 tiny tattoos, all in black ink, all done by the same artist: Ryan Waid. Here is the story of why I got them and why I chose this artist.

I made a much needed Ulta purchase the other day that was a very long time coming. So much of my make-up is dried out and crusty. I know you’re supposed to swap out your make-up every few months, so clearly I am a bad example. I linked everything I bought below, but if you want to know why I made some necessary swaps, click the ‘read more’ button!

Happy Almost Valentine’s Day. Truth be told- I am not a huge fan of this holiday, but I am the BIGGEST supporter in self love.
While Valentine’s Day is normally centered around romantic love, I am such a big advocate around the idea that that is not the only love worth celebrating. There are so many other types of love- the love you have for your friends, your pets, your family, yourself – that usually get kicked to the curb during the Valentine’s Day hype.
If you’re reading this and you don’t have a romantic partner for Valentine’s Day, I encourage you to spend your day focusing on the love you have for yourself. And if you keep reading, you’ll find I have a few items that can help you with that. *wink wink*

blondes have more fun, but brunettes remember it the next day
Bye-bye blonde! A few months ago back in October, I used Overtone conditioner to dye my hair a deep espresso brown. I loved it! I’ve been meaning to do an Overtone review for months now. I took so many fun blog photos with my brunette hair. Do blondes really have more fun? I’m not completely convinced anymore. Here are my Kim Thoughts on using Overtone conditioner and details of my washing out process.

I finally gave Glossier products a try. For years I’ve wanted to try these products because I’ve always been a fan of the minimalist make-up look for myself. It could also stem from just laziness when it came to make-up, but who knows? I wasn’t sure how I would like the ‘dewey’ make-up look which is definitely the vibe for most of Glossier’s products. But I figured it was worth a shot. Some of these products definitely lived up to the hype, but others…not so much. Here is my review on 6 Glossier products I recently purchased.

Lately I’ve been trying to be a better consumer. A more ethical consumer. I am a firm believer that you hold a lot of power in where you spend your money. One of the ways in which I’m trying to be better is by buying from local and small businesses-especially Black-owned businesses. I saw such a strong community push to support Black-owned businesses in recent weeks, but I don’t want that to just be a trend. I’m glad to see a lot of these businesses getting new promo and selling out like crazy. But I’m personally striving to incorporate purchasing from Black-owned businesses more frequently, especially since I love so many of these products I just tried out.
