If you couldn’t already tell by my lack of blog posts this month, I have decided not to post any gift guides this holiday season. Try to wipe your tears enough so you can keep reading. As someone who’s love language is quality time, I thought this would be a good blog post to share. Especially since I cannot (with a good conscious) promote shopping right now with the state of the world and state of the economy. I think we all have power in what we buy (and what we don’t buy) so personally, for me, I have been limiting my holiday shopping this season. So with that in mind, I wanted to throw out a few ideas for “experiences” to gift this holiday season.

adorable book tree above not included, but a very cute idea to try!
In the season of giving (and time of recession) DIY gifts are the perfect solution! I am not including pictures of what I have actually made this season, because I don’t want my friends to read this blog and have their Christmas presents surprises spoiled. So shoutout to Pinterest for the help on this post! And feel free to check out this post from 2020.

Fun Fact: I just completed my 2023 GoodReads Reading Goal! 60/60 books done on October 18th. I would like to thank my book club and the Libby app for this wonderful achievement. I don’t know how you feel about counting audiobooks for this goal (if you didn’t already guess, I absolutely do) and I’ve been listening to a TON of audiobooks lately while I WFH and go on walks. I must be blessed by the Libby Gods, because most of these audiobooks have been spooky rom com books. What could be better for October? I love spooky season, but I do not like gore or horror. That being said, I wanted to make this post about 10 spooky (not scary) books that you can read this month to really get in the Halloween spirit!

I love my friends. I love brunch. I love dressing up. I love fall. I love my birthday! And I love combining all of those into one large party. My 28th birthday was on a Sunday this year, so I decided to host a breakfast potluck with a bunch of my friends still in the DMV. Since moving back home into my parents’ house, I couldn’t have the big blow out party I’ve had in recent years, so I was so happy on this day. I was surrounded by my favorite people and felt so special. I also love when everyone pitches in and comes together for meals. I asked everyone to dress up in garden party attire/ fall colors and I had a blast setting up tables like it was Thanksgiving! I love candle lit meals, grandma-looking china and bouquets of flowers and I am so happy with how everything turned out. Shout out to Aimee for helping to capture everything on her camera!

Third time is the charm! Let’s see how many things I can knock off on this list. I definitely crossed off more items in my first list, but I would like to blame a global pandemic for that one. Now I’m not really sure what will stand in my way this time, but I am hoping I made the majority of these goals attainable. But of course, I always need some “stretch goals”. So much can happen in 1,001 days. I can’t wait to look back on this list in 2026!

I guess technically I named them my “champagne goals” but I like the idea that each one of these things is a “problem” that I get to cheers to this year. And yes, technically I got Prosecco to drink, but I am a big La Marca girlie. I was inspired to do this after watching a video on TikTok. I love drinking some bubbly and celebrating accomplishments, so I figured this would be a good way to ensure I actually work for my goals. I made this small list of 9 things I’d like to accomplish myself this year. I’d like to thank my best friend, Taylor, for coming to Baltimore and helping me with this little project.

I don’t know if anyone really cares about this because I constantly share what’s in my shopping cart and outfits I’d like to buy. But this is my Christmas list I am sharing with my family. Now that I am an adult, we really only do one gift per person, from each person but I wanted to give some variety. I also really tried to make this list “fun” and not just things I need to get for my apartment or things I need to replace to survive as an adult. If you want that list, I will probably make it on the blog one day soon. But for now, here is my 2022 Christmas list.

I have been waiting all year for this! The Reformation Sale is here! I really love Reformation (and how sustainable they are) but I do not love their prices. So when this yearly sale rolls around, you better believe there are a bunch of items that catch my eye. If you’re like me and you don’t like to buy anything full price, check out some of my favorite sale items!

Like I mentioned in a blog post from a few weeks ago, I am going to Colorado in a few days! I am so excited to get back out there and see my friends. We’re going hiking and to a concert at Red Rocks! I am always a last minute packer, so I hope by making this blog post, I can get my act together.
