I had the pleasure of visiting my favorite Chicagoan last weekend. Peyton really brought out all the stops for me and it was enchanting (just like her hair). I took off a couple days of work fly out there for a fall-tastic weekend and everything was awesome so here is a photo dump!

I’ve been enjoying trying out different recipes while I’ve been living on my own. Remember when that Tomato Feta Pasta was really popular on Tiktok? Well here is the autumn version of that. I also found this recipe on Tiktok (here’s the link) but decided to do my own little spin on it. This pasta is so easy to make and perfect for those chilly fall days. I also bought all of these ingredients from Trader Joes!

I have wanted to throw a Taylor Swift party for YEARS! It only makes sense that I finally have it the first year of living on my own. I asked all of my friends to dress up in iconic Taylor Swift outfits and they all did! I’m so thrilled everyone was a good sport and dressed up. And their costumes look great! I actually supplied quite a few of the outfits you’ll see in this post, but what else are #Kimberkopys for?
Here is a TikTok I made of everyone’s outfits!
This is mainly a photo dump from my party, so I hope you enjoy! (And if you decide to throw a Taylor Swift party, I hope this blog post provides you with some inspiration).

It’s my party, and I’ll cry if I want to…
Happy 26th birthday to me! I love staging birthday photoshoots, and this one is particularly special just because of WHERE I shot these photos. Look I know it’s hard to top last years birthday photoshoot but I had to try! This photoshoot portrays the many feelings I have about turning *barf* 26. You can read this blog post to review how I feel about my 25th year. I took these photos in my very own apartment (!!!!!!) which I did not think I would do for 26th birthday. But here we are! I love things that sparkle and shine and I love using my DSLR with my tripod, flash and my self-timer. Hope you enjoy these photos!

This tends to be an annual tradition for my birthday. I like to spill some ink on the blog about becoming another year older. “Kim Thoughts”– if you will. So goodbye 25, and hello 26! Here are some random thoughts I have about myself, my life and aging- on this, the last day of me being 25.
Read More >>Wedding Guest Dress Guide: Renting
Pro-tip: now that weddings are a thing again, you can save a ton of money by renting your dresses instead of buying them. As a Rent the Runway Ambassador, I am the biggest advocate for renting, instead of buying for big events. Last weekend I went to a wedding in Richmond for one of my best friend’s sisters. While I have a monthly subscription to Rent the Runway, I did a one-time rental for this dress I’m wearing above. It was quick, easy, not as expensive as if I had bought a totally new dress and I got so many compliments! Over the last 2 years, I have rented a bunch of dresses from RTR that I think would make excellent wedding guest dresses. So here are my top picks for Wedding Guest Dress from Rent The Runway.
Use my code ‘RTRFAM576C838‘ to get 40% off 2 months of RTR’s 8 and 16 item memberships.

So it turns out that once you have a place of your own, you develop a never ending list of items you want to buy, but keep rationalizing why you don’t need them. I have lived in my apartment since June and while I would love certain items in my apartment, I am also aware that I have survived this long without these items, and I can still do without. But a girl can dream. Some of these things are fun! Some of these are not so fun. But they are practical. I do think that all of these items would improve my apartment (and my life) but I need to looking for sales and start convincing myself to actually pull the trigger. So here are some things I still want for my apartment.

Okay so yes… my birthday is only a few days away and that is definitely not enough time for any of these things to be ordered. But I still wanted to make this post. Some of these things are pricy and I will probably never own them but birthday wishlists are supposed to be fun! And some of these things are hilarious and outrageous. So I hope you like my ridiculous list. If anything, these are gifts to myself for my 26th birthday.

You may remember this post I made a few years ago. Well I have great news- Kayla and I were finally able to find a sunflower field where the sunflowers were alive! This field just happens to be in my hometown, right down the street from both the church I grew up in and my office. This is the second summer these sunflowers have been around and I was so happy to get to see them. I know everyone is ready for fall, but I think September is the perfect transition month and deserves to be celebrated (not just because my birthday is in late September). To me, sunflowers symbolize the end of summer and transition into fall. So taking pictures in this field at golden hour with Kayla was magical. Here is one last ode to summer. Hope you enjoy these photos!
