I love spooky szn. I love playing dress up. I love finding outrageous articles of clothing at the thrift store. And I especially love finding creative everyday ways to wear them. That is pretty much what this whole post is about. Here are 8 festive and fun Halloween outfits that I’m so excited to wear this month. Most of these items are from last season or were thrifted, but I linked similar in the post!

It wasn’t until I was on my way to take photos in Old Ellicott City that I released this dress reminds me of the one Beyonce wears in her “Hold Up” music video. It’s a little less vibrant, but that’s no surprise since she is Beyonce. I can’t hold a flame to anything she does. But I did have fun taking this pictures with that song in mind. Mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors for fall and lately I have been loving tiered maxi dresses. When I saw this one on Rent the Runway, I knew I wanted it in my closet, even if just for a short time.

Pretty sure that I’ll be living in these corduroy pants all of fall. It’s only October 2nd but I don’t know if the weather got the memo that it’s spooky szn/fall now. It’s officially that time of year when you wear a sweater in the morning and then regret it in the afternoon. So if you are having that problem or live in a place that doesn’t fully reach fall temperatures, my recommendation is to invest in corduroy pants. I got these from Gap last year and they go with everything. The warm, burnt orange color is perfect for fall, but I can also pair these pants with a cami and sandals for a more weather appropriate look. I usually reserve these pants for sweater weather, but thought this outfit was great for that time period of when you want it to be fall, but it still feels like summer.

I don’t think I’ve ever read this many books in such a short time. I have talked before about how I don’t make reading a priority so I rarely ever read. But that changed after I joined my friend’s book club. And it has been so fun! I have been loving my virtual book discussions and I’ve finished every book assigned since we went virtual, even if it was minutes before the book club. And because I’ve been in such a reading groove lately, I’ve also read a bunch of books that are not a part of our book club that I want to share.

I have been thrifting so much in the past few months! I find such great deals on Poshmark and ThredUp and even ventured out of my house a few times to find some great deals at the local secondhand store near my house- 2nd Avenue. If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably seen me wear a lot of these but I just wanted to highlight some things I got and why I got them.

He only likes her because she’s old. She’s probably like 25!
I’m 25 today! And if you want to know how I feel about that, you should read this post. But if you don’t care and you’re just here for pretty pictures, welcome! Normally for my birthday, I’d have a grand old party with a bunch of my friends, but COVID-19 said nope. So I threw myself a fake birthday party in the house of one of my best friend’s parents. Sound kinda strange? Keep reading if you want the full story.

It’s crazy to think that the last time I made a cocktail post, it was at the very beginning of the pandemic. I know so many people are ready to jump fully into fall, but there are still parts of me that want to hold on to summer a little bit longer. My tone about summer ending usually changes by the hour, so why not enjoy an end-of-summer happy hour?! Here are 4 cocktails I’ve been enjoying the last few weeks of summer.

Why do I feel like the Orbit girl in this dress? Dirty mouth? Clean it up with Orbit gum! I didn’t even feel that vibe when I wore this dress a few days ago but looking at these pictures now… that is all I’m thinking about. This dress is a rental from Rent the Runway and I’ve had my eye on it all summer. Even though it’s been weirdly chilly on the east coast, and I am very excited for fall, I am not ready to transfer my closet over to sweaters. Especially since it’s supposed to be in the 80s this week. This dress gives me major 1960s vibes (which I don’t normally go for) and I took these pictures while trying to master the middle part (how am I doing?). I wasn’t sure if I would like the mint green color but I was pleasantly surprised. It doesn’t wash me out like I thought it would and is helping me prepare for the transition from summer to fall, especially with these accessories.

Let’s pretend for a moment that we are in fact not in the middle of a pandemic. Let’s pretend Taylor has decided to do Loverfest in 2021 the exact way she planned it for 2020. But after those shows are all done, Taylor plans and advertises a world-wide series of concerts in smaller venues that go from late summer through the fall. Imagine it’s more of an acoustic set overall with an intimate vibe within an arena (not in a stadium). No crazy stages, no elaborate props, no dancers or aerialists. Just Taylor and her band. Can you picture it? I certainly can. Which is why I made this blog post about my imaginary folklore Fest concert.
This vision is all made up completely from my imagination and from watching all of Taylor’s previous tours over the years. I am honestly doubtful anything like this would happen anytime soon. We’re in a pandemic that doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon for America, but also because Taylor is such a fantastic performer and puts on such incredible stadium performances. She could be seen as too big to just do smaller arena tours again with not as many bells and whistles. But I know so many fans would love to see her perform in this way. So while we have no idea what the next few years will look like, a girl can dream. And in my wildest dreams, this is what folklore Fest looks like.
