Peach and Goat Cheese Crostini

I suppose summer is officially over now that Labor Day has passed, but apparently that message has not gotten to Mother Nature yet. September is always a weird month to me because I am normally so ready to jump into fall, but it remains super hot and humid out. Normally I wait until my birthday (September 24) has passed before I completely succumb to fall, so that is the energy you’re going to get from me.

The other day, I was enjoying a happy hour on the deck with my parents when I decided to get creative with some drinks (which will be in another blog post) and appetizers. I found a few random recipes for bruschetta on Pinterest but then stumbled upon this recipe for a peach and goat cheese crostini. I was surprised I basically had everything in my house already (just needed a baguette) and it was so quick and easy to make. I highly recommend making this for your next outdoor, end of summer happy hour!

One of my favorite bloggers lately has been Julia Berolzheimer of Gal Meet’s Glam. This photoshoot was very much inspired by her photos and her love of sundresses. If I could steal anyone’s closet, it would totally be hers. I’ve been in such a huge sundress mood lately (since it’s been so outrageously humid in Maryland) and when I saw this one on Rent the Runway, I feel in love! I feel most comfortable in midi dresses and the floral detail and white eyelet lace on this dress are so beautiful. For all my folklore fans out there, I’m pretty sure this is what Betty would have worn in her garden.

My Fake-Take of Living On My Own

This blog has been sitting in my drafts for 3 weeks as I’ve been debating on what to say. In late July, I was cat sitting/apartment sitting for one of my good friends, Sarah, and her boyfriend, Rafael. Seems a little weird that I would be posting about that since I have actually watched a lot of my friends’ cats over the years. But what makes this different is that I pretty much moved into their apartment for the week. Since I am working remotely, I rarely left her apartment except to run some errands and go home to my parent’s for dinner (because it was only 7 minutes away and who doesn’t like free food?). I had a super fun week pretending I had actually moved out of my parent’s house and had gotten myself an adorable little kitty. But it sparked the question from others and from myself: am I ready to move out?

What’s Going On With USPS + Resources

When I originally took these pictures with Kayla a few weeks ago, I had no idea what was going on with the USPS. But I feel like you would probably have to be living under a rock to not know now. It’s been causing me a lot of stress and anxiety (but that’s pretty normal now whenever I follow the news), so I’ve been doing a lot of research to fully grasp what is happening. I’ve also been seeking ways that I can help. It is so major for all of us to support the Postal Service right now. Speaking from a personal note, My Opa worked for the Postal Service for 35 years. So clearly the USPS is near and dear to my heart, but it’s also a crucial public service that we need to protect!

Part of Your World Vibes

I love taking pictures on the beach. I even bought this ivory pom-pom dress with beach pictures specifically in mind. I get serious “Ariel coming out of the ocean with human legs for the first time” vibes from this dress, especially with the rope belt. Anyone else think so? Look Ma! This tan didn’t come from a bottle!

This week I am at the beach with my family in Bethany Beach, DE. This is my ONE vacation I get this year because it is the most COVID compliant thing I can do. My family is doing our best to keep social distance from strangers and wear masks when out in public. This vacation is definitely not like our usual beach stays, but that is not a completely terrible thing. I wasn’t able to take off work because of the whole “in a global pandemic’ thing, so I’ve also been staying inside and working for most of the week. It’s been pretty nice to just have a change of scenery and get to spend time with my family after work. The weather has been a little wonky but there have been a few good days and I was able to get some sun! I rented a few pieces from Rent the Runway for this trip, which is where I got this top I’m wearing in these pics!
