Happy Friday! It’s that time again…time for another biweekly need-to-know. This week is more of a check-in and recap of the last few weeks, but there are definitely some things I think you need-to-know so here we go!

Today’s blog post is a little heavier than most other’s that I do. I have briefly mentioned in other posts how I’ve been going to see a therapist. Today I want to talk about why. This is a deep blog post not because I’m ashamed to go to therapy. I am 100% not ashamed by this at all (let’s get that straight). I think every single person could use a therapist and I want very much to normalize making mental health a priority. But I am talking very personally about some of my struggles and issues which I don’t normally highlight on my blog.

Am I the only person getting Sharon Tate vibes from this outfit? I never saw “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood” but I have seen all those fan accounts for Margot Robbie playing Sharon Tate on Twitter. The turtleneck and leather skirt remind me of those same 70s vibes, but that’s not why I put this outfit together. I think this is basically just a compilation of a bunch of basics every girl should have in her closet. Black turtles are going to be huge this season (per usual) and are such a chic, simple classic that also keeps you warm. I also think these polka dot tights give this outfit a fun, spunky spin. I feel I could be giving tours in a fancy art museum, but also crush a man’s hopes and dream in a cocktail bar. Looks like you can have it all ladies, as long as you dress for it.

“Wednesday’s at that very special age when a girl has only one thing on her mind.”
“Boys?
“Homicide.”
It’s the day before Halloween, which also means it’s a Wednesday. Which makes for the perfect time to share this KimberKopy. I love the Addams Family movies and especially Christina Ricci’s version of Wednesday. So many great one-liners! There was no question I wanted to recreate Wednesday’s iconic look this Halloween season. I found this adorable pearl collar dress on Amazon and I’m definitely wearing it to work on Thursday. Similar dresses are linked below, and a confession about when I used to trick-or-treat…

Have you ever seen Tim Burton’s 2012 ‘Dark Shadows’? It has to be one of my favorite Halloween movies! Dark Shadows is based off of the show (same name) that aired in the 60’s. The movie takes place in 1970’s Maine, includes vampires, witches, werewolves spiteful ex-lovers, powerful women, and has some wild plot twists. I have always loved Eva Green’s character, Angelique, in this movie. Although she is a vengeful, and crazy ex of the main character, Barnabas, her attention to detail in her revenge points is mighty impressive, she spends decades running a seafood monopoly in the small town of Collinsport, and looks absolutely fabulous while doing it all. I rarely side with the villain in a movie, but this woman knows what she wants and how to get it. I especially love her death in the movie, which I tried to recreate above. More recreations of scenes and the stories behind them are below!

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!
One of my favorite things to do in October is to watch “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!” That’s always been such a classic in my house. My parents used to call my brothers and I into the living room on the one Sunday it was playing on ABC so we could all watch it together while carving a pumpkin. My parents even used to watch it when they were kids when it was on once a year (while in totally different towns, which I think is cute). So it’s a great family tradition, and it got me thinking of other Halloween traditions I love doing. It also motivated me to buy this Snoopy shirt from Target! Similar shirts and a list of my fav traditions are below!

I wish I could be more creative in my introductions to these blog posts, but let’s be real. You’re not here for the introduction, you’re here for the stuff I post after this, so let’s just carry on, shall we? Here’s what I think you need to know!

Whether you’ve been following my blog for a while or just stumbled upon it today, you should have figured out by now how much I love Taylor Swift. Total Stan Status. Most of my KimberKopy’s are actually recreations of Taylor Swift outfits and music videos! So in order to celebrate “13 years of Taylor Swift”, I knew I had to do something from her debut album. For those that don’t know, 13 years ago today, Taylor released her first album (and 13’s are a big deal). I have to admit that I didn’t really listen to Taylor or country music when her first album came out, but after discovering her during the Fearless era, she and her music have become such a huge part of my life. For so many years I’ve treated her album releases like Christmas morning, waited eagerly by the TV to see what she was wearing to an award show, saved up money to afford a ticket to her concerts, and spent countless hours listening to her music whether I was happy, heartbroken or just needed to feel understood.
I know that Taylor doesn’t own the masters to most of her work, including her debut album and this song, but I still wanted to share this recreation 1. I am so excited for her to rerecord her albums next year and 2. Despite what has happened and how much I support Taylor, I will always be thankful that on this day 13 years ago she released her first album and changed the music industry and my life forever.

Ever decide at like 8pm that you want to shoot and write an entire blog post? This was basically me last night when I was sitting in my room rethinking my actual Halloween costume. I usually plan my costumes months in advance, but lately all of my ideas have fallen through. I have a Halloween party on Saturday so I was starting to freak out about what to wear. I’m a little low on cash these days so I was thinking of things I already had in my closet (ignore the fact that I literally have a box in my room labeled ‘costume box’…I could probably make a million posts like this) that I could turn into a pretty cute costume. I did a whole series last year of ’13 Days of Halloween Costumes’ and while I would love for that to inspire you as well, I tried really hard to make these 4 costumes different than any of those from last year. (But still, go check out those posts). If you’re a last minute kind of person or just don’t have a clue what to be for Halloween, I hope you like these 4 costumes!

Coffee is one of my favorite things in this world. I started drinking it when I was 11 and have not stopped since. I love the culture that surrounds coffee (everything from coffee shops, special holiday drinks, ‘hey wanna grab a cup of coffee?’) and of course the actual taste of coffee. Studies have shown that coffee itself isn’t unhealthy, but the caffeine and sugar that often accompany coffee can really take a negative toll on your health. I know National Coffee Day was a few weeks ago, but I believe there is never a bad time to talk about coffee. So here are some tips to making your everyday coffee a little healthier.
