Going Out Outfit: Distressed Jeans

HEY NOW HEY NOW-OW. This is what jeansssss are made of- HEY HEY! I hope you like that bad joke/segway into introducing this outfit. Check out my first pair of distressed jeans. (Yeah, first pair…idk why). I’m absolutely obsessed with them (even if adults make the comment of “you got a rip in your jeans” joke). Here are some things I absolutely love: I love the color red. I love Taylor Swift’s album RED. I love red lipstick. I love polka dots. I love that this dress was less than $20. I love gold hour. I love daylight savings. I love that I can wear this dress to work. I love that I can take blog photos after work. I love that I can bribe my best friend to take photos of me. I have to admit that it’s kind of daunting to me that I will be wearing business casual for the rest of my life. That may seem morbid, but it’s true! Odds are, whatever job I have at any point of my life, I’ll be required to wear some level of business casual/business professional. That being said, I have been trying really hard lately to have my personal style shine through in my professional workwear. I can be really lazy when it comes to getting dressed for work (I don’t even wear make-up to work anymore) but I have been getting a few requests for some easy (and cheap) business casual outfits. Money March

Now that No Fun February is over, I’m moving onto my next monthly theme: Money March. I’ve been joking that Money March is just the month where I spend all the money I saved during No Fun February, but that’s not the case! While I will be spending more money this month, I’ve also made a “to-do” list of sorts that I think will help me make a little more money this month, as well as a few tricks to saving money too. I know we’re already 1/3 of the way through March, but that doesn’t mean its too late to save money!

My 10 Week Half-Marathon Training Schedule

So I’m posting this a little late but I’ve been training for a half-marathon for the past few weeks. I started around the 10 week mark and have been trying to increase my distances a little every week, while also doing other work outs. I’m around 8 weeks out now and can run around 5 miles no problem, but I would like to get up to 10 miles before my race, which is on April 27th. I ran the same half-marathon last April and finished with a time of 2 hrs and 38 minutes. My goal this year is to get under 2 hrs and 30 minutes, so here is my current training schedule.

Blue Wrap Coat

I’m going to have to file this coat under “an article of clothing I bought because Taylor Swift wore it first”. I shamefully bought this beautiful coat during No Fun February, even though I swore I wasn’t going to online shop that month. But I can honestly say I had my eye on this coat for months! Since Christmas! And I had resisted up until the moment I saw Taylor Swift wear a very similar coat after the BAFTA awards a few weeks ago. So I checked on the price of the gorgeous coat I had been looking at during the holidays and of course it was half off and only had one size left-my size. The stars aligned and I truly believe it was meant to be. (At least thats what I tell myself.)

Book Review: Small Great Things

I cannot stop thinking about this book. Seriously. It has totally engulfed my mind since picking it up. I read it for my book club at work. I haven’t read a Jodi Picoult book in years and WOW this is why. They absolutely wreck me and leave me thinking about them for years after I finish them. I read this whole book in maybe a week (which is a big deal for me). It’s been a really long time since a book has left me feeling like this. I found this book to be really thought provoking and especially important in this day and age. Here’s my review!
