Book Review: Small Great Things

I cannot stop thinking about this book. Seriously. It has totally engulfed my mind since picking it up. I read it for my book club at work. I haven’t read a Jodi Picoult book in years and WOW this is why. They absolutely wreck me and leave me thinking about them for years after I finish them. I read this whole book in maybe a week (which is a big deal for me). It’s been a really long time since a book has left me feeling like this. I found this book to be really thought provoking and especially important in this day and age. Here’s my review!

Museum Musing

A few weekends ago I went to the Baltimore Museum of Art with my friend Jesse. The entire time we basically just took sneak attack pictures of each other admiring the art but also looking sophisticated and intrigued. Maybe I’m just projecting onto Jesse, but here are some of my favorite shots from that day.

No Fun February 2019: Halfway Check-In Point

It’s February 15th and we are officially over the halfway mark of No Fun February. How’s it going y’all? I am so happy that so many of my friends have jumped on board and are participating in one way or another. I get so happy when someone tells me “I went out tonight but I didn’t drink because it’s No Fun Feb” or “I’ve been eating really healthy this month” or “I’ve been saving so much money by not going out for lunch”. Awesome! This month is full of little victories (and a lot of little ways to get through it as best you can). So while I haven’t been perfect this entire month (even though this is my thing) I still wanted to share how I’ve done so far, some road bumps I’ve hit but some things I’m also really proud.

Black Lace ‘Blank Space” Recreation

Nice to meet you, where you been? I can show you incredible things…

I have wanted to recreate this look for so long! As you probably already knew from this blog post, Blank Space is one of my all time favorite music videos. I’m all for recreating Taylor Swift looks whenever, but I thought sharing these pictures around Valentine’s Day was…appropriate for the theme of the video. I had so much fun recreating this look and am so happy with how these pictures turned out! All I’m missing is a white cat named Olivia and two white horses for the bedroom. I’m hoping to keep recreating and sharing these Taylor Swift inspired outfits, so let me know what you think!

Embracing Overall Love This Valentine’s Day

As much as I like to put on the cliche front of ugh Valentine’s Day is the worst just to crack some self-depreciating jokes, I don’t actually mind it anymore. Don’t get me wrong! There have been times when I was so bitter and angry about my love life was that I was so petty and spiteful about anything romantic or lovey dovey. But at this current moment, I am relishing in the moment and the fact that I don’t feel heartbreak at this moment. I feel grateful for the love I have and excited for the things to come.
