So I don’t think I shared this in January, but I set this goal for myself about how I wanted to go one 1 date a month. A little back story behind this is that I haven’t really dated someone in a really long time, and the last time I actually went on like a “first date” I was a freshman in college. Around the time of this past New Years, I was talking to a bunch of my friends about their dating lives and I thought to myself I should put myself out there, meet new people and see what I like. After all…I’ll never be younger and I feel like your twenties should be spent trying new things and figuring out what you like and don’t like. So I downloaded Bumble and Hinge and made some nice little profiles… and now, after only 5 weeks, I am ready to throw in the towel (for the time being).

So we’re one week into #NoFunFeb and if you’re like me, you’ve probably hit a few speed bumps and temptation is all around you. But no worries! It totally happens and NFF is supposed to help you, not make you feel worse about yourself. I have a lot of tricks up my sleeve to help you get through this month and help you maintain your goals. Here are just a few of my main tips and cheats:
Read More >>Black Valentine’s Outfit
Not to sound too pessimistic, but I usually wear black on Valentine’s Day. It could be because in the past, my bitter heart wanted the world to know that I was alone and bitter…but now I just think black is the most flattering on my body. Plus, I get to match a bright red lipstick and colorful balloons with it without worry of clashing. I’m also pretty sure I’ll be wearing this to the Galentine’s party one of my best friend’s is throwing the weekend after Valentine’s Day! Super excited for that and super excited to give you some Valentine’s or Galentine’s outfit inspiration (especially if you’re doing #NoFunFeb and need to pull something together in your closet.) Details below!

A few weeks ago I was lucky to travel halfway across the world to China to visit my best friend Taylor. Bragging moment: Taylor has been studying Chinese and East Asian studies or the past 10 years, so she’s pretty much fluent and took such good care of me! (She also knows 5 other languages… but who’s counting?) What a different world it is over there! We stayed in Shanghai and Nanjing and those two cities are so different from each other. The food was amazing, the architecture was nothing like I’d seen before and I was so happy to get to hang out with Taylor for a week because I haven’t seen her in 6 months. I’m calling this my first trip to China because now I have a 10 year visa, so I’m looking forward to going back one day! Here are a bunch of pictures I took and the places we went!

I know it’s literally only a few days before February starts, but there is still time to plan and get ready for No Fun Feb! Here are a few tips I have to help you start the month off right.

If you’ve been following along with my blog you probably know this picture is old because my hair is super long in it. I look these pictures last March in Annapolis. But the reason I’m bringing it back is because of my coat. I love love LOVE this teddy bear coat that I surprisingly got at a thrift shop in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania in 2016. And since teddy bear jackets are crazy in right now, I linked a bunch of them below.

The time has come again! This is my second year of doing No Fun February and honestly I need it bad. I am just now finishing up all the holiday candy in my house and my poor wallet needs a break. Here is my original post for “No Fun February” but I refuse to make posts like this without acknowledging that this name for this came from when my friend, Jesse, did “No Fun November” a few years ago. I’ve made a few changes to last years NFF rules and guidelines which you can find below. But this blog post is also about why you should even give up your indulges anyway and participate in No Fun February.
And if you’ve caught on to how early I’m posting about NFF, that’s because I’m traveling for most of January and wanted to plant the idea in your head so you can decide if you want to do NFF with me!

SNOWWW! Took you long enough to come visit me. Thankfully it’s not too much snow that I’m stuck in the house…but I do love using snow as an excuse to just stay in and relax. I have a pile of books I need to pick up, but I’m currently watching “YOU” on Netflix and writing up some blogs. I’m so happy it snowed because I got a chance to play with my new camera lens and wear these J.Crew Factory earmuffs my twin got me for Christmas.

It’s funny to me that I usually make posts like this after I’ve gone to a vineyard. You may remember this post about embracing my post grad stage of life. Well I have returned to good ol’ Big Cork Vineyards for a get together with the girls for my friend Jess’s birthday. And lets be honest, anyone can turn into a great philosopher when girl talk and wine are involved. But honestly, I first started thinking about this blog post over the holidays when I saw one of my friends from college after 6 months.

Truth be told, I love the few days before and after New Years, just because there is so much energy and potential buzzing around the new year. The past few days I haven’t really been on top of the whole blog thing, as I’ve been hard core relaxing. It’s been absolutely wonderful, but now I am ready to get sh*t done in 2019! I’ve done a lot of reflecting on 2018 (which was a seriously awesome year for me) but I’ve also thought about what I want 2019 to bring me. And before you ask, yes, I have New Year’s Resolutions. But something happened the other day that made me question whether or not resolutions are even worth making!
