As I have gotten older, I developed a fear of Christmas not feeling like Christmas anymore. It could be because of school and work and money problems and not believing in Santa anymore, but as of late I think one of the easiest ways to keep in the Christmas spirit is festive Christmas pajamas. Ask my brothers…I make them wear these ridiculous Christmas onesies on Christmas Eve every year. I’m not sure I can pull that off this year so here are some of my favorite pajamas I’ve found at my favorite stores (most of them are on sale this week!)
Icy Blue Sweater
Chicago, its certainly bean a while! (ha I love bean puns). A week ago I was in a very snowy Chicago. Now its snowing here in Maryland, so I guess I can’t escape it until March. Lucky for me I love snow and all things associated with snow. This new sweater I got from Vici reminds me of ice and snow (like if Elsa were to wear a sweater in 2018, this would be it). Vici is one of my new favorite online stores and I can’t wait to buy more sweaters on Cyber Monday (if I can hold out that long). It was absolutely freezing in Chicago when I look these pictures but I hope you can’t really tell how cold I was. Word of advice, don’t take off your coat in Chicago, no matter how cute your sweater is.
12 of the Best Advent Calendars 2018
Growing up, my family always had a paper advent calendar that hung on our fridge I used to fight with my brothers about who got to open which day. Now that I’m living at home again, I definitely want to get a brand new advent calendar, but recently I learned that there is such a huge variety of advent calendars to pick from! I used to get so excited just over opening a little paper flap and reading a Bible verse of a story I know like the back of my hand. Just imagine how happy I’ll be in December when I get a little present (from myself) every single day. If this doesn’t sound fun, theres something wrong with you. I think advent calendars are a great way to count down to Christmas so here are 12 different advent calendars that I found super interesting!
CrockPot Taco Soup Recipe
I had the rude awakening the other day that it is extremely cold outside, and apparently the cold is here to stay. So of course I texted my dad about this (because whenever I’m upset about anything, I text my dad) and he suggested that this week would be a great time to make some taco soup. Now I realize that not everyone knows what taco soup is and truth be told, the best way I can describe it is a thinner version of chili. Now I want to emphasize that these pictures do not do this soup justice. Taco soup is one of my all time favorite dishes and it is so easy and cheap to make! Trust me when I say that as the days get chillier, you’re going to want to come home to this soup.

Thanksgiving is just 8 days away and that is just enough time for you (yes you) to order a new outfit for Thanksgiving! Whether you’re slumming it in sweats and leggings or are required by your grandparents to wear a dress and tights, here are a bunch of options you can order before Thanksgiving and they should arrive on time! (Even if you don’t plan on ordering anything, I hope you find some inspiration from this post as you plan what you’re going to wear with what you already have in your closet.) Links below!
Book Review: See Me
Phew…It took a while to get through this one. But that’s not a bad thing! I just finished the first Nicholas Sparks novel I’ve read in years. I started reading it over the summer on the beach and was finally able to finish it last weekend on a plane home from Chicago. Click the ‘read more’ button to read my full review.
Camel Coat at UChicago
Over the weekend I took a trip to Chicago to visit my loveliest friend, Peyton. It’s been a few years since I last visited Chicago and now Peyton and I have graduated! I’ve always loved her Alma Mater because the entire campus is absolutely incredible, especially in the fall! With the Gothic architecture and the ivy leaves, I have such appreciation for UChicago and I’m glad we were able to walk around and take in all the fall leaves. Although it was super chilly, it was sunny and I finally got to wear my new camel coat from Old Navy (on sale now!!!). Details and links below!
Jamaica in November
Have I ever told you how much I love my job? I feel like I’ve had to have mentioned how I am so thankful to work where I do with some incredible, boss-ass women who I respect so much. I haven’t mentioned it? Well here it is now. Everyday I am learning so much about life and my industry and I couldn’t be more blessed, especially after this weekend. (I probably sound like a broken record). Honestly, I like to keep my job as private as possible on this blog, so I can keep the two worlds as separate as possible. But last weekend I went on a corporate retreat to celebrate my company’s anniversary in Jamaica and I wanted to share a few pictures from it!
Disclaimer: this is not an ad or sponsored at all. It was a trip I took for my job and has nothing to do with blogging and I get absolutely no money from this post. Just wanted to share some pictures 🙂 I’m not even getting that detailed
My New Shopping Rules
So this picture is kind of misleading because its not like I buy sparkly ball gowns on the reg. But I did need a picture for this blog post, and this store I visited in Annapolis a few weeks ago was just so pretty. I don’t really take pictures when I shop, and to be completely honest, I usually just online shop. A lot. Am I a shopaholic? Some of my friends have called me that, but I don’t think I’m out of control and we can thank my 5 shopping rules for that. Check them out below!
Day 13: 13 Posts of Halloween Costumes
WOOOO! Happy last day of ’13 Posts of Halloween’! Honestly this is such a relief to post. I think I made over 30 costumes in the last 13 days. WOW! I wanted to make today’s costume my final costume because its been the costume I’ve been planning since September. I was thinking about how I have this old mink coat from my grandmother and a brand new pupper that looks kinda sorta like a Dalmatian. Hmm…what should I be? Umm…Cruella De Ville obviously! I actually already wore this costume over the weekend for my church’s ‘Trunk-or-Treat’. A bunch of the little kids kept trying to take Pepper away from me because they thought “Cruella is gonna hurt the puppy!” So cute! Plus I love any sort of costume that involves red lipstick, my nana’s fur coat and Pepper. Hope everyone has a spot-acular Halloween!
