One of the biggest perks of living in a rural area is that there are plenty of pumpkin patches all over town. One my way home from school, I probably pass at least 15 pumpkin patches and farms. So this is just the first pumpkin patch I have visited so far this season. I’m really glad I got to wear this crochet dress because its been hanging in my closet untouched for probably over a year. I usually save it for around Halloween because if I had to call it something, I would call it my “Wiccan dress”. Like doesn’t it seem like the only thing missing is a boiling cauldron, a broomstick and a black pointed hat? Personally, I’m all about it and I’ll probably use this dress as a back up Halloween costume if I end up needing it.
Life Update
So I haven’t been posting as often as I used to for a lot of reasons. Since I was in Alabama, these past few weeks have been me trying to get my life together here at school. Here is what I’ve been up to and what I’m looking forward to:
Orange You Glad I Wore This
It’s finally sweater weather here in Maryland and I am thrilled. Fall is my favorite season and this is probably my favorite sweater I own. With the open back and ribbed trim, sweaters like this always give off a soft and cozy vibe, which I live for. I have been a huge fan of the “burnt orange” color since last year. I just think its quintessential fall and looks great with the changing leaves. I always wear this sweater with my cowboy booties which I’ve had since high school. The design on the boots goes really well with the orange sweater and adds a fun touch.
I also took pictures of my friend, Jess who matched the burnt orange with a nice dusty peach color. Jess and I had a nice little photoshoot the other day and then went out to lunch. She’s starting a blog that will be up and running in Winter 2018 and I’m so excited to go blogging adventures with her!
Roll Tide Roll
I’m currently sitting in the Birmingham airport, reminiscing about how unbelievable this weekend was. I got to sit in the student section of Bryant-Denny Stadium and cheer on the Crimson Tide for the first time ever. I don’t think I’ll ever get that opportunity again, so I really tried to soak it in. They played/destroyed Ole Miss (66-3). The entire atmosphere of Tuscaloosa is crazy the day of a game and the energy of the stadium is mind-blowing. If you ever get the chance to upgrade your tickets at an Alabama game, DO IT! All of the students get a little pom-pom and sing along to the fight song and “Sweet Home Alabama”. Everyone dresses for the occasion, so I’m still seeing red, but I also have a lot of new outfit ideas. Here are some pictures Kalen, Melissa and I took of our game day outfits while we sold parking at Kalen’s house (she lives like 3 blocks from the stadium). We all spent hours cutting up shirts and swapping clothes trying to find a perfect game day outfit. I was pretty hype about mine, almost as hype as I was to be there for the game. I haven’t mastered the fight song yet, but hopefully by next time I’ll have it down.
Dixieland Delight
How lucky am I that I get to travel to far away places to visit my friends? I’m currently in Tuscaloosa, Alabama visiting one of my best friends from high school, Kalen. I came to Tuscaloosa about two years ago during my sophomore year winter break, but never for a game. We’re playing Ole Miss this weekend and it is going to be soooo unbelievably fun (keep an eye out for another blog post about game day). I love Alabama’s campus and everyone in the south is really polite. I have been trying to find people who know where my school is, and so far the only people who know are the other travels who made it down for the game. I’ll take it! I may go to a small D3 school in the Northeast, but for the next few days I’m part of the Crimson Tide. Roll Tide Roll.
How to Get Free Stuff on Your Birthday
For those who don’t know, I just turned 22 last week. You can read all about my birthday party here! After a super fun weekend, I went on a little adventure on my actual birthday where I collected some free goodies all over town that you can get only on your birthday. I posted a picture on my Snapchat of all my loot and my friends went crazy! They kept asking me how I got all this stuff for free, so here is a quick rundown of some places that will give you something free on your birthday and how you can get it:
Feelin’ 22
“I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling twenty-twooooo…” You better believe that song was on repeat for the last 72 hours.
This is a life update/photo diary post about my 22nd birthday party I had over the weekend. I’m big on themes so I decorated my living room with all of these galaxy decorations and string lights. I also asked everyone to wear all black or dress for the theme and everyone did! My little brother drove up for the night from College Park. If you don’t know which one he is, he’s the one killing it in the mint romphim. I also bought a ton of Polaroid film and even brought out my DSLR for a few pictures at the start of the night. I’m kind of obsessed with documenting my life through photos, but if you’re on this blog…you probably already knew that. My roommate made me a beautiful galaxy cake, which is pretty much the reason for the theme. I wish I had gotten a picture of it.
My friends and family are totally awesome and made my birthday so special. Theres nothing that great about turning 22, except for the fact that its my “Taylor Swift Birthday”. For anyone reading this who wished me a happy birthday or sent me a present, thank you and I love you a lot. Please enjoy these pictures of a wild night and my first as an old and wise 22-year-old… you know, because I learned all the lessons I needed to learn when I was 21 *wink wink*.

3 Month Recovery for Double Jaw Surgery
This is another blog post for anyone who is curious about what my recovery was like over the summer. I hope anyone who is getting double jaw surgery can read this and know what to expect.
No lie, my recovery was not fun and it was not easy. This post is in no way meant to scare anyone from getting this surgery. I am so happy with my face now, that all the discomfort and pain I felt during recovery was worth it. But this is an honest recap of the recovery process that I had to brace myself for months in advance. My doctors told me what to expect long before I even had a surgery date, but I still wasn’t prepared for a lot of things, like the lack of feeling in my face and the long-term swelling.
I didn’t post any pictures of my face right after my surgery, and when you look at these pictures, you’ll probably understand why. I didn’t really post my face on social media during the summer because the swelling was so bad, so here is a glimpse of what I looked like for the past 3 months. Keep an eye out for a vlog coming soon of the entire braces-surgery-recovery process.
Also, this is a very long post so bear with me: a lot happened, so I have a lot to share.
