My first Halloween costume of the year! If I was planning on doing something this Halloween, this is one of the outfits I would wear. It was so easy to throw together and I’m actually kind of bummed I can’t wear it out but I’ve known for a while I won’t be doing anything too crazy for Halloween this year. At least you get to see this outfit here on the blog. Here is an easy and chic devil costume that is perfect for a twenty-something.

I’ve always love supporting small businesses, but now that spooky szn and cozy szn are here, I may have gone a little overboard with my purchases. I’m excited to show you on the blog everything I got when it all gets here, but I wanted to highlight some stores today so you have time to order things before Halloween. There is just something about buying a product that you know was handmade by someone because it’s their passion project. Personally, I am trying to become more crafty, I’ve been sending more letters and packages to friends and I have been selling a lot of my clothes secondhand. So I know that a lot goes into the personal touches and presentation when packaging something for someone, and all of these products are just so unique. Check out some of the Etsy shops and small businesses I’m crushing on lately.

It wasn’t until I was on my way to take photos in Old Ellicott City that I released this dress reminds me of the one Beyonce wears in her “Hold Up” music video. It’s a little less vibrant, but that’s no surprise since she is Beyonce. I can’t hold a flame to anything she does. But I did have fun taking this pictures with that song in mind. Mustard yellow is one of my favorite colors for fall and lately I have been loving tiered maxi dresses. When I saw this one on Rent the Runway, I knew I wanted it in my closet, even if just for a short time.

This blog has been sitting in my drafts for 3 weeks as I’ve been debating on what to say. In late July, I was cat sitting/apartment sitting for one of my good friends, Sarah, and her boyfriend, Rafael. Seems a little weird that I would be posting about that since I have actually watched a lot of my friends’ cats over the years. But what makes this different is that I pretty much moved into their apartment for the week. Since I am working remotely, I rarely left her apartment except to run some errands and go home to my parent’s for dinner (because it was only 7 minutes away and who doesn’t like free food?). I had a super fun week pretending I had actually moved out of my parent’s house and had gotten myself an adorable little kitty. But it sparked the question from others and from myself: am I ready to move out?

Look Ma! This tan didn’t come from a bottle!
This week I am at the beach with my family in Bethany Beach, DE. This is my ONE vacation I get this year because it is the most COVID compliant thing I can do. My family is doing our best to keep social distance from strangers and wear masks when out in public. This vacation is definitely not like our usual beach stays, but that is not a completely terrible thing. I wasn’t able to take off work because of the whole “in a global pandemic’ thing, so I’ve also been staying inside and working for most of the week. It’s been pretty nice to just have a change of scenery and get to spend time with my family after work. The weather has been a little wonky but there have been a few good days and I was able to get some sun! I rented a few pieces from Rent the Runway for this trip, which is where I got this top I’m wearing in these pics!

I’m so late to posting this but here is my July photo dump from my HUJI Cam app. Yes, this is a backdated post and I’m not including captions this time but I hope at the very least you enjoy this quick glimpse into what in my daily life captures my eye.

It’s that time again! I loved coming up with my first “101 Things in 1,001 Days” list back in 2017 and tried to mix up this list as much as I could. Here is my recap of my first list. With a current pandemic happening right now, I tried to be optimistic about what I can accomplish in the next 3 years. I don’t know when large events are going to happen safely again or when a vaccine will be developed, but I am trying to cling onto hope that I will be able to travel and hang out with my friends again. But I also decided I wanted this list to focus on the activities and goals that I know I can do, even in the comfort of my home. So with that being said, here is my new list of 101 Things in 1,001 Days:

It’s crazy to think that 1,001 days have already gone by. I have to admit, in the hustle and bustle of life, I forgot about this blog post. Not to mention, for the last three months of this list, we were in a global pandemic. I like to think I could have accomplished a few more things if I wasn’t confined to my house for the last few months. But because it has been 1,001 days, I am concluding this list and moving onto the next. Here is what I have to say about my first 101 Things in 1,001 days challenge.

So I may be like the only person in the world trying to make the HUJI app popular again, but I don’t care. I love film photography and all of the dust, weird lighting and solar flares that come along with it. But I also acknowledge that the world has gone completely digital and sometimes film photography can be wasteful if you’re just going to post those pictures online. So that’s where the HUJI app comes in. You take photos on the app like a disposable camera and it random adds all of these solar leaks, dust marks and more. I love the way these photos on the app look, so for the last month or so I’ve been documenting my life through the HUJI lenses. I definitely took a ton of photos this month, but here are the pics I find most aesthetically pleasing. Enjoy!

For the last two weeks, I have muted myself on social media and here on the blog in an effort to amplify Black voices and sources that are educating the public on systemic racism. While I’ve been sharing a lot of posts I find educational on my Instagram stories, I have refrained from making any post up until today. Mainly because I wanted to get my words in order, but also because I’m starting to sense that things are going “back to normal”. And I don’t want that to be the case. I’ve gone back and forth on what I want to say. I’ve narrowed it down to this post for right now, but I’m really only scratching the surface.
