Cheers to the end of 2020! What a weird year. Looking back on the last year is so bizarre. Thinking about how it started to how everything is now blows my mind. Never did I think ‘global pandemic’ would define my 2020, but here we are. Despite a chaotic and stressful year, there are a few things I’m glad I started doing this year.

It’s hard to find the words to describe 2020 because I am mentally still in March. This was a very abnormal year and there was a lot of changes and stress and anxiety. When I set my goals for 2020 a year ago, I did not picture this year being like this at all. Who had “deadly virus”, “quarantine”, and “murder hornets” on their 2020 bingo card? And while I do not want to spend the time reviewing every single aspect of 2020 (because it’s over and done and I just want to continue to move forward), I did want to reflect on my 2020 goals and my ‘one word’.

In my typical style of sharing cocktails I’ve tried myself and enjoyed, I wanted to give you a few options for NYE that include Prosecco or Champagne. I made these cocktails a few days ago with my friend Peyton and all of them are delicious. They are also so easy to make and perfect for bringing in the new year!

“Did I have a crush on the Grinch? Well of course not.”
Merry Christmas Eve everyone! It’s been a while since I’ve done a Kimberkopy and last year’s Martha May Whovier costume was one of my favorites I’ve done! The Jim Carey version of The Grinch is my absolute favorite Christmas movie. I have probably watched it 25 times since Halloween and can quote the entire thing. I love the the detail of the sets, the sneaky adult humor and the costumes. THE COSTUMES! Christine Baranski serves so many looks in this movie and I love recreating them. Hope you like this one!

This is a list of gifts I actually made for my friends this year! Since early November I wanted to focus on handmade crafts mainly because I wanted to learn some new skills and I think homemade presents are so personal and sweet. The fruit of my labors, laid out right before you in this post. I am a very creative person and I like to make things with my hands, so this was a fun adventure. I’ve already mailed some of these crafts you’ll see in this post to some friends in far away places. But I know shipping is very delayed right now, so if any of my friends recognize their gifts from this post, no you don’t.

Snow day! Which is the perfect excuse to prance around my backyard in this new Rudolph Onesie. I bought it for Christmas morning, but I wanted to wear it today for my “weekly staff meeting serve over Zoom” a.k.a. “my weekly zwerve”. During my lunch break I took a moment to play with the dog outside and it was snowing so hard! I love a good snow day, especially when the snowflakes are huge and make for some fun photos ~like these~. Link to the onesie and some others like it are below!

SHE HAS DONE IT AGAIN. Could someone please contact Taylor Swift and ask her to please get her foot off my neck for A SINGLE MOMENT?! She is so so so good to us. ANOTHER ALBUM? ONLY MONTHS AFTER TS8? FOLKLORE’S SISTER?! I was so so so excited for this one. Even though it was a totally random and unexpected drop, I think I was better prepared for this one because I had gotten so used to folklore. The night the album came out I hosted a Zoom party where we all watched and listened to the Youtube lyrics videos. We stayed up until like 3am but it was so fun! And like I’ve done for Lover and folklore, here are my predictions, first thoughts and current thoughts on each song.

This is a very unique gift guide that I haven’t done before. I think this year is the year I became really passionate about shopping more sustainably. I started renting my clothes and shopping mainly secondhand around this time last year and it has made such a difference in the way I think about consumerism and shopping. During the holidays, I know there are a ton of gift ideas on the internet (I even made a few gift guides myself this year) but I wanted to create this gift guide to inspire you to pick up some gifts from your local thrift store. Just because it was previously owned, doesn’t make it any less of a great gift, especially if it’s something really personalized. Here are eight gift ideas you can purchase secondhand, and how you can make each customized and personal, so you know the recipient will love it.

Holly and jolly and all dressed up and literally no where to go. I love dressing up for the holidays, but I don’t really have an event to get dressed up for this year because ~pandemic~. But I will continue to dress up even if it’s just for pictures because it makes me happy. Holiday outfits are so fun to put together and I love matching green with red. So I hope you like this outfit, and it inspires you to dress up for Christmas, even if you don’t leave your house.
