Would you look at that?! Another 1,001 days have come and gone. And what did I accomplish? Not a lot on this list! But that is okay. I would love to spill some ink about how I’m feeling about the last 1,001 days.

I did not have this trip on my 2023 Bingo Card! Who would have thought Kim would ever make it to Alaska in her lifetime? I am definitely not what most would consider a “nature girl” but when Allison decided to travel nurse to Alaska for a few months this spring, I just could not pass up the chance to go see her. I spent 8 marvelous days in Alaska, traveling from Anchorage to Fairbanks and everything in between. This trip was definitely a step out fo my comfort zone but it was so rewarding and so fun. Everyone I met was so warm and welcoming, especially the other travel nurses Allison hangs out with. I am so lucky to have been able to go on this trip and so lucky that Allison was willing to host and plan everything. Hope you enjoy these photos (but truthfully, photos don’t do most of these views justice).

Can I just start this blog post by saying, that Autumn is truly the hostess with the mostest. Not only did she secure Eras Tour tickets for us, she and Seth were so wonderful to house me, Cori and Johnny this weekend. Plus, they have a pool now and Bodie is getting so big! I don’t get to see my favorite little fam as often as I would like, but when I do, it’s the best time. This was such a wonderful long weekend and I loved getting to hang out with Autumn’s family too. But most of all, I CANNOT BELIEVE WE GOT TO SEE THE ERAS TOUR!!!! And I get to do this all again in Nashville in May? Sounds fake. What a dream weekend this was. I didn’t take a TON of pictures (I was living in the moment), but here are some random photos and a short recap.

If you couldn’t tell from some previous posts I’ve made, I am trying to be a more conscious consumer. Since 2020, I have made it a personal mission to be more sustainable in my shopping. It was during the pandemic that I really fell in love with shopping on Poshmark and thredUP, to the point where I am now a thredUP ambassador! I have the apps for both of those and spend so much of my time looking up brands and hunting for particular items I want. So on one hand, I am trying to be more ethical and conscious of what I consume and purchase. On the other hand, I am trying to declutter my apartment and closet. I definitely would not consider myself a minimalist (even though my personal style leans that way), so I have been trying to get rid of clothes in my closet that I no longer want. It is an on-going process. I’ve recently researched more about textile waste and want to try to limit my own impact. Did you know that in America, an estimated 11.3 million tons of textile waste – equivalent to 85% of all textiles – end up in landfills every year? That’s equivalent to 81.5 pounds (37 kilograms) per person per year.
So if you’re like me and want to both declutter your closet but also be kind to Mother Earth, here are 10 things you can do with clothes you no longer want.

Phew- this blog post ended up being wayyyy longer than I made a separate post about all the shoes I am eyeing this spring, but this post evolved into a very long wishlist. I am very aware of the fact that this list is a little outrageous and I will most likely not even buy 3 things on this list, but as a (bad) fashion blogger, it is my duty to show you some clothes I have my eye on.

We are only a week away from the start of the tour! I wanted to share what songs I really hope I get to scream at my shows. I am so lucky to be going to 3 shows! Arlington 4/2, Nashville, 5/7 and Philly 5/13. In all honesty, Taylor could stand on the stage and just single “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and I would still lose my mind. I do not like seeing fans making demands of what they do or don’t want Taylor Swift to play at her tour. Anything she plays will be amazing. I know it is impossible for her to play her entire catalogue in a 3 hour concert. So I am making this post as more of a wish list and to show you what songs mean the most to me. Taylor Swift has never disappointed me with her concerts and she is not about to start, after being away for 5 years.

You know what I need to stop doing? Thrifting shoes. I know, I know – seems gross. And it probably is. But I love thrifting and saving money. Another girl’s trash is Kim’s treasure. I even thrifted these beautiful shoes above (shoutout to the very talented Stephanie for shooting this awesome picture above) but you won’t find them listed in this post. One thing I’ve noticed as I get older is how important it is to have good shoes. Like good quality and comfortable. And shoes I will actually wear too! Gone are the days of super tall heels and uncomfortable sandals that dig into my toes. As the weather gets warmer, I will want to be outside more and also walking around Baltimore to save money on Lyfts. So these are the shoes I have my eyes on this season (but I definitely won’t be buying all of them).

I am so excited about these outfit ideas! I’ve done a few recreations for folklore and evermore over the last few years (I even made an imaginary folklorefest) and I think there are so many potentially amazing lyrics and songs to go off of for your Eras Tour concert. I wanted to combine this post since I don’t even know if they count for different eras. And I don’t know if she will play any of these songs on tour, but a girl can dream.

I love a 4 step Trader Joe meal! Truth be told, I am pretty lazy with my cooking, but I do cook for myself the majority of the time. I am very easily influenced by Pinterest and videos I see online, which is where I got the inspiration for this recipe. I am not very original, but this is a wonderful formula to go off of if you need a last minute dinner that warms the soul and has some protein and greens included.

The other day I posted on Instagram that I spent the majority of my Saturday melting down the wax in some old candles for my wax warmer. I got a bunch of questions so I figured I would make a blog post explaining how I did it! I think this is a great way to get a little extra mileage on your candles and an efficient way to clean out your jars. I do want to add that I don’t think this trick works for every candle, but definitely most.
