Glossier Review

I finally gave Glossier products a try. For years I’ve wanted to try these products because I’ve always been a fan of the minimalist make-up look for myself. It could also stem from just laziness when it came to make-up, but who knows? I wasn’t sure how I would like the ‘dewey’ make-up look which is definitely the vibe for most of Glossier’s products. But I figured it was worth a shot. Some of these products definitely lived up to the hype, but others…not so much. Here is my review on 6 Glossier products I recently purchased.

How To Style: Navy Gingham Midi Dress

I love a dress that gives off a vintage feel! This dress makes me want to attend a sock-hop or go to a drive-in. Which is exactly why I styled it with my Converse and cat eye sunglasses. Taylor Swift Street Style: Reputation Era Candids

I think we’ve already been over how one of my favorite hobbies is recreating Taylor Swift outfits. I’ve been thinking of the best way for me to kind of ‘group’ the outfits that I do and I’ve decided to do it by era. And I have such fond memories of the reputation era (and yes, reputation is not capitalized). I had so much fun recreating these looks! I actually took these pictures back in April during the beginning of quarantine and just kept forgetting to post them. I’m posting this blog now because two years ago today I was at the reputation Stadium Tour in DC! Such an amazing show. I’m super emotional because I really, really miss it.

Just about everything I’m wearing in this post was thrifted or something I already owned. I will be linking similar options to these outfits below, but I totally recommend you try thrifting some of these pieces on online stores like Poshmark, ThredUp and Mercari like I did. Better for your wallet and environment!

White Eyelet Dress

A few weeks ago I did a huge Target run…from the comfort of my own home through the Target app. It’s truly amazing how much junk you can accumulate in an online shopping cart in just a few minutes. That was the day Target dropped 3 new collaborations with fashion designers (much like the Lilly for Target collection a few years back). This dress I’m wearing above is part of the Lisa Marie Fernandez for Target collection and I absolutely love it. I’ve been on the hunt for an eyelet lace dress like this for a while and I especially love the tie around the waist. This dress is perfect for my work from home days, but also comfortable enough that I can wear it while running errands (because let’s be honest, those are the only two things I do these days). I also bought this gorgeous CushniexTarget dress that day, as well as a bunch of books, hair products, a sports bra, PJ shorts… the list goes on! 101 Things In 1,001 Days Vo.2

It’s that time again! I loved coming up with my first “101 Things in 1,001 Days” list back in 2017 and tried to mix up this list as much as I could. Here is my recap of my first list. With a current pandemic happening right now, I tried to be optimistic about what I can accomplish in the next 3 years. I don’t know when large events are going to happen safely again or when a vaccine will be developed, but I am trying to cling onto hope that I will be able to travel and hang out with my friends again. But I also decided I wanted this list to focus on the activities and goals that I know I can do, even in the comfort of my home. Recap of My First 101 Things in 1,001 Days

It’s crazy to think that 1,001 days have already gone by. I have to admit, in the hustle and bustle of life, I forgot about this blog post. Not to mention, for the last three months of this list, we were in a global pandemic. HUJI Photo Dump: June 2020

So I may be like the only person in the world trying to make the HUJI app popular again, but I don’t care. I love film photography and all of the dust, weird lighting and solar flares that come along with it. But I also acknowledge that the world has gone completely digital and sometimes film photography can be wasteful if you’re just going to post those pictures online. So that’s where the HUJI app comes in. You take photos on the app like a disposable camera and it random adds all of these solar leaks, dust marks and more. I love the way these photos on the app look, so for the last month or so I’ve been documenting my life through the HUJI lenses. I definitely took a ton of photos this month, but here are the pics I find most aesthetically pleasing. Enjoy!

Black-Owned Businesses I Bought From (and you should too!)

Lately I’ve been trying to be a better consumer. A more ethical consumer. I am a firm believer that you hold a lot of power in where you spend your money. One of the ways in which I’m trying to be better is by buying from local and small businesses-especially Black-owned businesses. I saw such a strong community push to support Black-owned businesses in recent weeks, but I don’t want that to just be a trend. I’m glad to see a lot of these businesses getting new promo and selling out like crazy. But I’m personally striving to incorporate purchasing from Black-owned businesses more frequently, especially since I love so many of these products I just tried out.

Dear White Women: We Need To Do Better

For the last two weeks, I have muted myself on social media and here on the blog in an effort to amplify Black voices and sources that are educating the public on systemic racism. While I’ve been sharing a lot of posts I find educational on my Instagram stories, I have refrained from making any post up until today. Mainly because I wanted to get my words in order, but also because I’m starting to sense that things are going “back to normal”. And I don’t want that to be the case. I’ve gone back and forth on what I want to say. I’ve narrowed it down to this post for right now, but I’m really only scratching the surface.
